bluesign releases 2025 revisions of its Chemical Reference Lists

Effective July 1, 2025, bluesign has published updated versions of its three core chemical reference lists: the bluesign® SYSTEM SUBSTANCES LIST (BSSL v16.0), the bluesign® SYSTEM BLACK LIMITS (BSBL v7.0), and the bluesign® RESTRICTED SUBSTANCES LIST (RSL v16.0). These updates reflect bluesign’s ongoing commitment to safe chemical management, environmental protection, and regulatory alignment.

Veolia announces a major technological breakthrough, effective to achieve up to 99.9999% destruction of targeted PFAS

Veolia announces an unprecedented technological breakthrough in Europe in the fight against per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), commonly known as "forever chemicals." Developed in the Group’s global research centers, the patented Drop® technology enables the removal of these persistent pollutants with an efficiency rate of up to 99.9999%1 on several targeted PFAS. Veolia is currently deploying the patent across its 20 incineration lines dedicated to hazardous waste in France, Germany, Spain, Poland, United Kingdom, Switzerland, and Hungary.

On the evening of 25 June, the Hamburg-based Aid by Trade Foundation (AbTF) received the Honorary Award of the German Africa Foundation 2025. Prof. Dr Michael Otto, the foundation’s founder and a prominent entrepreneur, accepted the award at a ceremony held at the German Bundestag. The Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), Dr Bärbel Kofler, presented the award in the presence of guests from politics, business and civil society as well as representatives of African embassies.

OECD assessment of GOTS indicates strong alignment with international due diligence frameworks

Global Standard, the non-profit organisation behind the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), announces today the conclusion of an OECD Alignment Assessment of GOTS Version 7.0. The OECD evaluated the standard against its Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains in the Garment and Footwear Sector and found GOTS to demonstrate strong alignment across all six steps of the due diligence framework.
