The General Assembly of the Bremen Cotton Exchange will take place in Bremen and online on 26 June 2025. All members, partners and friends of the association are cordially invited to attend this important event.

The Bremen Cotton Exchange is delighted to welcome the renowned stock market expert and ARD economy journalist, Anja Kohl, as a guest speaker at the General Assembly.

Mrs Kohl is one of the most distinguished voices in German economic reporting. Thanks to her many years of work at the ARD stock exchange bureau in Frankfurt, she is well known to a wide audience for her ability to communicate complex economic issues competently and clearly.

Elke Hortmeyer, Director of Communications and International Relations at the Bremen Cotton Exchange, states: ‘We are delighted to welcome Mrs Kohl on 26 June 2025. Participants can now register online for the 38th International Cotton Conference Bremen, which will be held on 25-27 March 2026 at the Haus der Bürgerschaft parliament building on market square. Economic change and personnel decisions were the dominant themes on the agenda of the Annual General Assembly of the Bremen Cotton Exchange on 26 June 2025. During the meeting, the new Executive Committee and Board of Directors of the raw material association, which is now almost 153 years old, were elected. Fritz. A. Grobien will take over as President.

Cashmere producers stress the importance of The Good Cashmere Standard®

At the invitation of the Aid by Trade Foundation (AbTF), over 70 experts from the cashmere production and supply chain, as well as other specialists, met at the GCS Unit Meeting in Shanghai, China to discuss the progress and new objectives of The Good Cashmere Standard (GCS). The meeting focused on implementation and verification of the standard, important aspects of animal welfare and the importance of the standard in the global textile market.

Human Rights Day: Cotton made in Africa reinforces its commitment to ensuring respect for human rights in cotton production

The sustainable cotton standard Cotton made in Africa (CmiA) has always focussed on respect for human rights, including by prohibiting child labour and discrimination. With the new version of the CmiA standard coming into force, AbTF raises requirements for due diligence in the areas of human rights and risk management.
