In view of ever shorter innovation cycles, the German warp knitting specialist KARL MAYER finds that four years is quite a long time to elapse between the ITMA exhibitions in Europe, the leading trade fair for international textile machinery builders. This is the reason why KARL MAYER decided to present its latest machine innovations already this year, this means at half-time between ITMA 2011 in Barcelona and ITMA 2015 in Milan.

The open house event with technology and textile shows took place at KARL MAYER’s head office in Obertshausen on 25.09.2013 and was a complete success. About 200 guests could be welcomed in Obertshausen. The visitors mainly came from Europe but also from distant countries such as Egypt, India, Thailand and Taiwan. Particularly the clients from Italy showed a lively interest in this event.

Considering the numerous visitors, the interesting discussions and the customers’ huge response to the innovations, KARL MAYER’s employees were satisfied with the results of this open house show.

„All in all, the open house event was just perfect. Many of our important customers visited us, and could be convinced of the high performance of our exhibited machines and of KARL MAYER’s innovative power“, said Oliver Mathews, Sales Vice President of the Warp Knitting Business Unit as comment on the good mood at the end of the event. The machines „at work“ were surrounded by crowds of people almost all the time. In detail, the Business Unit Warp Knitting presented the following machines: the new MJ 42/1-B, a RSJ 4/1 – as a new feature also available in a gauge of E 32, a HKS 4-M EL, the new HKS 2-SE for the first time in E 40 gauge, a HKS 2-3 in E 50 and the brand-new TM4 EL, which becomes more and more a top seller.

The BU Warp Preparation displayed the latest generations of the Nov-O-Matic and of the Multi-MATIC® at KARL MAYER’s factory in Hausen.
The technology show was complemented by a small but select product show on the topics of lingerie, sportswear and outerwear. Among other things, the visitors had the opportunity to see light running jackets and evening gowns from the company’s own creations.

Besides, KARL MAYER managed to win the support of the trend expert Louisa Smith for giving a lecture on the textile trends autumn/winter 2015/2016 of the ISPO Textrends Forum. ISPO is considered to be the leading international sports business network.

Third highlight of the attractive program around the open house show was the presentation of software solutions that provide comprehensive and easy means for fully utilizing the patterning possibilities of KARL MAYER machines. The efficiency of these programs was demonstrated in separate rooms by the manufacturers Texion, EAT and CADT by means of computer simulations.
