Progress update: INVISTA Victoria ADN technology upgrade

The project to bring INVISTA’s most advanced adiponitrile (ADN) technology to the Victoria, Texas site, is underway and continues to make progress. As scheduled, final tie-ins for the ADN technology upgrade are being installed during the site’s regularly planned maintenance turnaround.

The Victoria retrofit is the third of four planned deployments of INVISTA's latest ADN technology: the first was in Orange, Texas; the second at Butachimie in France (owned 50 percent by INVISTA and 50 percent by BASF); and the fourth will be the ADN plant at the Shanghai Chemical Industry Park in China, which is targeted to begin production in 2022. This technology brings improved product yields, reduced energy consumption, lower greenhouse gas emissions, enhanced process stability and reduced capital intensity, compared to existing technologies.
