Think ahead with the latest carpet and velvet weaving machines of VAN DE WIELE
? Unveiled for the first time during ITMA 2007, the Carpet & Rug Pioneer CRP92 is state-of-the-art in face-to-face carpet weaving machines. The CRP92 (Fig. 1) is designed for productivity and flexibility, new carpet qualities and low maintenance cost.
During ITMA, carpets in reed 400 d/m and 8 colour frames are woven in 4 m width, with 20% more output than any other carpet weaving machine.
? The CRP-electronic jacquard and the SDS Servo Driven System on the ground warps demonstrate the flexibility of the CRP92 in a lot of different weave structures.
The possibility to produce carpet with high reed densities in numerous colours, e.g. reed 700 d/m in 4 m and 8 colour frames is also illustrated by different rugs.
? High quality hand look carpets with a crystal sharp design in a reed density of 700 dents/m in 8 colour frames with a hand knotted carpet backside are displayed on ITMA.
Just like in the hand knotted carpets, no warp yarns are visible at the backside of the carpet when woven on the Hand Look HLX83.
? Long pile area rugs, up to 2x50 mm pile height, woven on the Shaggy Rug SRX82, have proven its success. Artificial grass, woven on SRX82 with patented weave structures in W guaranteeing good pile fixation without backsizing, is displayed on ITMA.
Combining high cut pile and high loop pile, rugs with a rich texture woven on the Universal Shaggy Loop USX83, are also presented.
? The most versatile carpet weaving machine is the Universal Cut Loop UCL83, combining cut pile, soft loop pile or flat weave in top as well as in bottom carpet. Like on the Sisal Look SLX83, reversible rugs and carpets with relief are woven on the UCL83, with a colour filling selector on the middle rapier for additional filling design effects.
? The Axminster machine MAX63 (Fig. 2) on the ITMA stand is weaving Axminster carpets at high speed (160 rpm) and in 16 colour frames without incorporated pile yarns. A patented 2-shot weave structure through the back is woven with clean design visible at the back, like in hand made carpets.
The MAX63 Axminster machine is equipped with the Smart creel of Griffith-G.T.M, member of the Van de Wiele Group. The Smart Creel is an automated pile creel with robots supplying pile yarns from big bobbins to save raw material, to reduce manpower and to shorten machine downtime.
? Further automation is demonstrated with the We@velink network for planning, monitoring and intranet interfacing.
? On the same stand, Titan-Deconinck is presenting different carpet edging and fringing machines as well as their DK4600 full automatic rug overedging robot.
? Velvet with more texture, combining pile surfaces and flat woven effects are woven during ITMA on the Velvet Tronic VTR33 Italian or Free Design Velvet (Fig. 3).
Both pile and ground warp yarns are controlled by the multi hook electronic jacquard, especially developed for face-to-face velvet.
As the VTR33 for Italian Velvet is equipped with a filling selector, additional ground effects for trendy or classic velvet are woven (Fig. 4 a &b).
? From fashionable modern upholstery, car & bus velvets, garment velvets up to technical fabrics, numerous velvet applications woven on Velvet Tronic VTR23 in dobby execution and VTR33 in jacquard execution are on display.
