Louis Philippe is the first brand in India to receive the Hohenstein Comfort Vote Quality Label

“We want our clothes to be stylish, elegant and comfortable. To meet the requirements of the Indian Gentleman has been our goal since 1989,” says Mr. Jacob John, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Louis Philippe. “Since one of the most essential quality characteristics is the wear comfort, we felt the urge to put our shirts to test by an objective analysis and evaluation of Hohenstein Institute.”
Hohenstein’s evaluation of wear comfort is based on thermophysiological properties and skin sensorial characteristics. By testing the wear comfort of Louis Philippe shirts the thermoregulatory model of human skin was used to assess processes of heat and moisture management of the shirts. This test includes measure of breathability, sweat buffering and transport of the shirt. Skin sensorial properties provide information about how the material of the shirt feels on the skin. Will the shirt scratch on the skin? Will it be perceived as clammy? Is the shirt suitable to adapt to the wearer’s body shape?
The wear comfort vote has a grading scale from 1 (very good) to 6 (insufficient) corresponding to the German school grading system. This vote system provides a clear representation of the measurement results from the laboratory tests for the customers. Louis Philippe received for their Liquid Cotton Shirts a vote of 1.8 (good). “Our shirts are made of 100 per cent cotton, a unique yarn spinning technology and a company-developed fabric finish. Thanks to our “good” wear comfort vote, we do not only claim our shirts to be comfortable but have an objective proof to be so”, says Mr. Jacob John. “The customers benefit from the label because they can recognize the quality immediately and be sure that requirements regarding the wear comfort are met. Furthermore, this makes us stand apart from the rest of the players in the market and reaffirms the brand ethos.”
