FILK will be introducing the new LEATHER STANDARD by OEKO-TEX at Techtextil
From 2017 onwards, producers and suppliers of leather goods can have their products certified to be tested for harmful substances by the International OEKO-TEX® Association. The basis for the certification is the new LEATHER STANDARD by OEKO-TEX®, which was issued during the annual meeting of the General Managers of the OEKO-TEX® institutes in the beginning of November 2016. With the introduction of this new certification for leather and leather products FILK as an established material research and testing institute of the tanning and leather industry is a member of the OEKO-TEX® community and offers tests and certification according to the LEATHER STANDARD by OEKO-TEX®. At Techtextil FILK will be introducing the new LEATHER STANDARD by OEKO-TEX®. This product label certifies leather and leather products tested for harmful substances. Results from R&D projects include innovative membranes, laminates and material composites:
-Heatable polymer membranes, waterproof and breathable, for cold protection and outdoor applications
- Flexibler PVC-wood-composites for application on nonwovens for decor wall paper and on glas fibre based substrates for floor coverings
- Composite materials with textile-based reinforcing elements for insoles with an increased pull-out strength of heels
- Printable PLA-coated PLA-composite materials for flexible advertising carriers
