C&A Europe increases its score in the Fashion Transparency Index 2023

The eighth edition of the Fashion Transparency Index has been announced today, and C&A Europe ranks 6th out of the 250 major fashion brands and retailers reviewed in the Index.

The Fashion Transparency Index, from the UK-based Fashion Revolution organization, analyses public disclosure of human rights and environmental policies, practices and impacts, in fashion brands’ operations and supply chains.

The efforts made by C&A to continuously increase its level of public disclosure about social and environmental policies, practices and impacts resulted in an improvement in the Fashion Transparency Index from 59% in 2022 to 68% in 2023. The overall average index for the industry in 2023, according to Fashion Revolution, is 26%, a slight upward trend in relation to last year’s 24%, which highlights the need for faster progress on transparency in the fashion industry.

C&A aims to continuously increase publicly available information and policies about its operations and supply chain, recognizing that transparency and accountability are instrumental in driving positive change and social and environmental impact.

Suzanne McKenna, Chief Range & Sustainability Officer, C&A Europe, says: “The fashion industry, and ourselves, still lack transparency on critical issues, and the whole C&A team has been eagerly working towards improving and closing gaps. We are proud that the Fashion Transparency Index, which we recognize as a valuable benchmark challenging transparency in the industry, has acknowledged the efforts we’ve been making to increase our level of public disclosure.“
