Kordsa is among the partners of the EU-funded efficient plastic recycling project “PolynSPIRE”

(c) 2020 Kordsa
Kordsa, operating in tire and construction reinforcement and composite technologies markets, joined the EU funded PolynSPIRE project within Horizon 2020 program aiming to demonstrate a set of innovative, and sustainable solutions for efficient plastic recycling

Thermoplastic materials based on fossil fuels such as PP, PE, PET, PA are used in a vast range of products and applications in everyday life but also generate an ever-increasing amount of plastic waste. Insufficiency of the current waste management system in terms of the separation of plastic blends and composites, and heterogeneous variant structure of plastic wastes are the main challenges for plastic waste recycling.

Kordsa is among the 21 partners, including research/academic institutions, governmental organization, industries and SMEs, of the EU-funded Horizon 2020 Project “PolynSPIRE” which aims to demonstrate a set of innovative, and sustainable solutions for efficient plastic recycling. The project addresses three innovation pillars which are implemented in operational environments reaching TRL 7 in 48 months: chemical recycling, mechanical recycling and valorization.
