Intertextile Beijing Apparel Fabrics starts at 28th March
+International exhibitor participation up 22% from 2011 show
+More than 1,300 exhibitors from 16 countries / regions
+SalonEurope debuts Milano Unica pavilion with 95 top end suppliers from Italy
+Comprehensive fringe programme offers latest trend forecasts and industry information
The most international show to date presents more than 1,300 suppliers (335 exhibitors from outside of China) from 16 countries and regions including Austria (1 exhibitors), China (1016 exhibitors), Germany (13 exhibitors), Hong Kong (22 exhibitors), India (2 exhibitors), Italy (106 exhibitors), Japan (13 exhibitors), Korea (70 exhibitors), Pakistan (9 exhibitors), Portugal (7 exhibitors), Singapore (1 exhibitors), Spain (1 exhibitors), Switzerland (4 exhibitors), Taiwan (28 exhibitors), Turkey (9 exhibitors) and the UK (6 exhibitors). Much of the growth has come from international exhibitors, up 22% from 2011.
“High quality and internationally-made apparel fabrics and accessories imports are on the rise, driven by China’s increasingly sophisticated middle class,” stated Ms Wendy Wen, Director for Trade Fairs, Messe Frankfurt HK Ltd.
According to China’s National Bureau of Statistics, retail sales grew by 17% to RMB18.12 trillion (US$2.88 trillion) in 2011. Ms Wen spoke optimistically: “As market demand for quality made clothing continues to grow in China, it seems likely that the mid to premium textile market will further develop along with the Intertextile Beijing Apparel Fabrics show, in particular SalonEurope.”
This season’s key attraction SalonEurope in halls 2 & 3 groups suppliers from Europe including Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, the UK as well as special country / region pavilions from Germany and Portugal. Exhibitors will showcase a variety of classic cottons, silks and wools as well as a broad range of cashmeres, jacquard woven’s and wool blends.
SalonEurope also debuts the Milano Unica pavilion that brings Italy's most prestigious textile and accessory companies for ladieswear and menswear in a glamorous and highly selected environment. Milano Unica pavilion exhibitors feature “Made in Italy” collections, a distinction that attracts many buyers across China. Entrance to SalonEurope is upon invitation only.
Additional country and region pavilions from Korea, Pakistan, Taiwan plus a Japan zone occupy the international halls in 3 & 4, offering the latest innovative textiles made with cotton, denim, nylon, polyester plus many other materials.
The Accessories hall 5 groups both international and domestic suppliers, showcasing different kinds of buttons, hang tags, hangers, labels, lace & embroidery, ribbons, zippers and more.
Meanwhile domestic exhibitors are allocated by product end-use in halls 1, 6, 7 & 8:
- Suitings fabrics in halls 1B1, 1B2
- Ladieswear fabrics in halls 1A2, 8A, 8B, hall 3 level 2
- Casual wear fabrics in halls 6 & 7
- Sportswear / functional fabrics in hall 5

The Intertextile Directions trend forum in hall 4 in addition to the Fabrics China trends in hall 1A2 for suitings and hall 8A for ladieswear present the latest textile colours, textures, and moods for Spring / Summer 2013.
Complementing the on-site trend forums are a series of design and trend seminars on day 1 and 2 of the fair. Seminar topics also cover certification and testing, market news and business strategies as well as legal issues concerning the textile industry.
The fair also takes place concurrently with the China International Clothing and Accessories Fair from 26 – 29 March at the New China International Exhibition Centre and Yarn Expo Spring from 29 – 31 March at the China World Trade Centre. Free shuttle bus service is provided between the three venues.
Intertextile Beijing Apparel Fabrics takes place from 28 – 30 March 2012 and is organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, the Sub-council of Textile Industry, CCPIT, and the China Textile Information Centre.
