Interstoff Asia Essential - the region’s prime sourcing destination for niche apparel fabrics and accessories commemorates 25 years in Hong Kong with a series of special events organised by the China National Textile & Apparel Council, the Textile Council of Hong Kong, the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT, and Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd.

“Over the years, we have developed a strong presence within Asia’s textile industry, all stemming from our very first step into the Far East with Interstoff Asia 1987,” commented Ms Wendy Wen, Director, Trade Fairs for Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd. Adding: “and now, we have grown to be a major force in helping to revive the region’s fashion and textile industry.”

The spring fair takes place from 14 – 16 March 2012 at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre, the show offers a wide range of fashionable products with a special focus on those made sustainably, as well as those with multiple functions and special properties, all conveniently located in halls 1D and E.

To better reflect the ‘one-stop-shop’ concept that buyers are now looking for, Interstoff Asia Essential, is divided into country/region pavilions including Elite China, Fine Japan, Excellent Korea, Amazing Taiwan and the debut Origin Africa. The show also features special areas including the Accessories Zone and Eco Section with certification bodies: Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) and Control Union (CU). The clearly signposted sections allow buyers to find specific products quickly and efficiently.

Well-rounded expert perspective on the latest trends and innovations

Attracting strong industry support from some of Hong Kong’s leading associations and fashion designers, a unique programme commemorates the 25-year milestone. “Interstoff Asia Essential is widely recognised as the leading annual event for the textile and apparel industry in Hong Kong,” praised Mr. Willy Lin, Chairman for the Textile Council of Hong Kong.

 

He further added: “It is an excellent platform to learn more about the emerging trends of the textile and clothing trade, while at the same time, allowing industry players to exchange new ideas and openly discuss, making it a must attend event.”

Among the confirmed events for the spring 2012 show are:

New Technology Zone

In partnership with the Hong Kong Research Institute of Textile and Apparel (HKRITA), Taiwan Textile Federation (TTF) and the China National Textile & Apparel Council (CNTAC), a unique display area showcases new garment design applications as well as pioneering products in the spinning and finishing technology sectors.

Celebrating 25 years – Interstoff Asia Runway

Up and coming local fashion designers and brands including Chen Dao, Dorian Ho, WHOSTHAT and Modele De Prudence are set to host an exciting fashion show in co-operation with pre-selected participating exhibitors.

Trend and Developments in China’s Apparel & Textile IndustryA tailor-made seminar programme specifically designed to address current challenges affecting today’s textile industry. An important segment of the programme provides for in-depth exchange and discussion.
