Eltex of Sweden presents new G3s yarn break sensor at Domotex

With its sensors, the Scandinavian company Eltex of Sweden has been ensuring the smoothest possible processes when weaving, tufting, winding or sewing for more than 50 years. The new G3s yarn break sensor, first presented at DOMOTEX 2023, is now set to continue this success story.

Eltex of Sweden from Osby in the historic province of Skåne is essentially dedicated to the development of yarn sensors and yarn tension monitors, as well as the associated data acquisition. Eltex's original product, the weft stop motion for weaving machines, has been continuously developed and perfected since its presentation in 1964. The various sensors are suitable for weaving machines, warping creels, tufting machines, winders, sewing machines and a wide range of other production machines. The Swedes are now presenting the new G3s yarn break sensor for the first time at DOMOTEX 2023 in Hanover.

The G3s yarn break sensor uses piezoelectric technology to detect the movement of all types of yarns in many different applications. As it does not rely on a central control unit, control can be very cost effective. The G3s is designed to detect yarn breaks on textile machines with up to 120 yarns. Available with eight, ten or twelve eyelets, individual sensors can also be linked together. Then they are connected to a machine control system (PLC) or other electronic devices such as relays or I/O modules. And should it not be possible to connect the G3s or other Eltex sensors such as EVG-s or UPG directly to the PLC, an Eltex FlexiHub can be used instead.

DOMOTEX Southeast Asia 2026 - Building the Gateway to ASEAN's fast-growing flooring market

From 11–13 November 2026, the inaugural DOMOTEX Southeast Asia will take place at BITEC (Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre) in Bangkok, Thailand. Jointly organized by GLOBUS Events Limited and Hannover Milano Fairs Shanghai Ltd., with Worldex G.E.C. Co., Ltd. as the local partner, the exhibition marks the expansion of the internationally recognized DOMOTEX brand into Southeast Asia. Object Carpet tests production of rPET BCF yarn on Neumag BCF line

In a joint project with Object Carpet GmbH, Denkendorf; the Institute for Textile Technology (ITA), Augsburg; and Next Generation Recyclingmaschinen GmbH (NGR), Feldkirchen, Austria, Barmag investigated the processing of recycled polyester for BCF yarn. The goal was to evaluate the fundamental suitability of 100% recycled carpet material for reuse in carpet yarn production to create a closed-loop system in carpet manufacturing. To date, commercial rPET BCF processes have been based solely on rPET from bottle pellets.

Mayer & Cie. Global gears up tor ITMA Asia 2026

Mayer & Cie. Global will focus on mattress fabric production at ITMA Asia, taking place in Shanghai from 20 to 24 November 2026. The company will showcase one of its flagship models for this application: the OVJA 2.4 EM. Joining the mattress fabric specialist will be an OV 3.2 QCe, presented at ITMA Asia in a configuration for knitting double-face fabrics in E40. This gives the OV 3.2 QCe a combination of capabilities rarely found in the market. The German textile machinery manufacturer will also introduce its new portfolio strategy and share updates from its development team at its Albstadt headquarters.

FET highlights advances in fibre spinning technology at Dornbirn Global Fiber Congress
