BASF drives sustainability down the textile value chain
The sustainability was held in Hong Kong earlier this week on 25 February, where BASF shared its sustainability roadmap for the textile industry, and introduced its innovative solutions with new technologies that embrace safety and ecology. Industry partner, bluesign®, has also been invited to present their sustainability vision for the textile industry at the workshop.
Attendees of the event included key retailers and brands, as well as industry partners within the value chain, who are interested in new sustainable technologies and interactively participated in the discussions.

Wholistic Future Finishing ‘Zero Add-On’ Formaldehyde Non-Iron Performance with Fixapret® Resin WFF is the latest innovation in finishing that does not compromise on performance, safety, comfort and durability. It is a first in the industry that offers high wrinkle-free effect with ‘zero add-on’ formaldehyde, yet maintaining optimal fibre strength.
Low Temperature Bleaching System Prestogen® Activator LTB is a low temperature bleaching system in the industry that can apply to textiles to achieve all degrees of whiteness – from standard bleaching before dyeing to full optical whites – with consistently high performance. The low temperature process consumes less energy, saves costs and has a low environmental impact.
EcoSafe Printing System EcoSafe Helizarin® Printing System offers a very safe standard for textiles in delicate and sensitive applications such as childrens’ clothes. Its ’zero add-on’ formaldehyde and soft handle provide comfort and consumer safety. This is a pigment printing process which saves water and energy compared to reactive printing, minimizing the impact on the environment.
