Officina39 brings to the Bluezone show the latest innovations of its classics

Usually denim is associated with the color blue, but Officina39 has for years made it more colorful, making it more sustainable. Blue is the color of water, but denim processed with Officina39’s technologies, requires less and less water. At the 20th edition of Bluezone (H5/booth10), Officina 39 is presenting the innovations of its Aqualess Activator and RecycromTM technologies, more and more blue with less water, more and more colorful with less waste.

Aqualess Activator (the 100% Pumice Stone Replacement) and RecycromTM Ready to?Dye are present-day key themes in Officina39’s philosophy and research, which has always focused on the ecological transition of the blue world, with less water and more sustainable colors.

Aqualess mission technologies are a set of waterless laundry processes that work together to reduce resources consumption while ensuring optimal performance: less water, less energy, less time and less pollution. Aqualess Activator is the latest developed technology in this range, a 100% pumice stone replacement and waterless solution to enhance the abrasion effects of Aqualess Aged, a bluesign® APPROVED waterless technology. Aqualess Activator works at room temperature in conventional machine to give stone wash effects to indigo and black denim, without involving pumice stone and water. This technology not only greatly reduces consumption, but also creates 90% less sludge than pumice stone and does not damage machinery. ecently, Officina39’s Aqualess technologies have contributed to a zero-cotton denim collection, in collaboration with Advance Denim and Lenzing Group, a project that shows how to get a traditional “authentic denim” look using Lenzing fibers and Advance Denim fabrics. A more sustainable blue result with less water is possible.

Staying on the blue shade, it is also one of the 15 standard ready-in-stock colors that Officina39 offers to its partners who choose to dye their garments in a circular way with Recycrom™ Ready to Dye. A range of dyestuffs, obtained from a minimum of 65% recycled textile pre- and post- consumer materials, to achieve fashionable dyes and colorations for use on cotton, wool, nylon or any cellulosic and natural fiber or blend.

Recycrom™ Ready to Dye expands Recycrom™’s portfolio, offering brands the possibility to choose and create their own colors from a standard color card, a palette of darker and brighter shades, guaranteeing a true upcycling of textile waste without any chemical synthesis. From 100 kg of textile waste comes the amount of Recycrom™ Ready to Dye needed to dye 20,000 T-shirts.
