Teijin and envision racing extend multi-year partnership

The Teijin Group announced today that it has extended its multi-year partnership with Envision Racing Formula E Team to support the team’s continuing participation in ABB FIA Formula E World Championship electric-vehicle racing. The Teijin Group has been supporting the team since 2020, helping to raise awareness of the company’s contributions to climate-change mitigation and adaptation.

Global efforts aimed at carbon neutrality and reduced environmental burdens continue to accelerate. Formula E was launched in 2014 as the world’s first fully electric single- seater racing series conducted on city-center circuits worldwide. By eliminating the use of fossil fuels to power vehicles and minimizing CO2 emissions in its operations, Formula E is attracting a growing fanbase representing a wide spectrum of ages. In the Covid- shortened 2021 season from February to August, the sport reportedly attracted over 316 million live spectators, up sharply from the prior year.

Through its support for the Envision Racing Formula E Team, Teijin is exploring new business opportunities based on its development of advanced technologies and knowhow for next-generation automobiles. For example, Teijin participated in the team’s Race Against Climate ChangeTM event, which is aimed at accelerating the transition to clean, secure and affordable renewable energy as well as the mass adoption of e-mobility. Also, the team’s drivers now wear protective suits incorporating Teijin's flame- retardant Teijinconex® neo meta-aramid, which fully complies with REACH and other leading chemical-industry environmental standards. Going forward, the company will continue leveraging these initiatives to raise brand awareness in prospective industries as well as promote the company’s ceaseless evolution in support of a more sustainable society.

Teijin announces availability of DPP-compliant products aligned with Europe’s ESPR Environmental Regulation

Teijin Limited announced today that it has started rolling out initiatives to enable aramid fibers and carbon fibers to be accompanied by Digital Product Passport (DPP) technology, which enhances supply chain transparency by verifying the origins of materials and supporting sustainability claims. The company is using the supply chain traceability system from Netherlands-based Circularise B.V., in which Teijin has invested since November 2024, to develop DPPs for each product.

Teijin to invest in Circularise B.V. and adopt its supply chain traceability platform to promote the Circular Economy

Teijin Limited announced today that it will invest in Circularise B.V., a company based in The Hague, Netherlands, which develops product traceability management systems using blockchain technology. Teijin will also implement Circularise’s software to improve visibility into its global supply chain. Circularise’s proprietary “Smart Questioning”(*) solution, which utilizes Zero-Knowledge Proof (ZKP) technology, provides both anonymity and transparency to ensure a highly reliable product traceability system.

Fewer pores, greater impact tolerance: Peter Dornier Foundation Prize 2026 honours material research on fibre-reinforced composite components for aerospace industry

Microscopically small pores that form during manufacture, or barely visible impact damage, can severely impair the load-bearing capacity and service life of fibre-reinforced composite components. Two young researchers have presented groundbreaking work in this field and will both be awarded the 2026 Peter Dornier Foundation Prize: Dr.-Ing. Benedikt Neitzel from the Technical University of Ilmenau for his doctoral thesis on pore minimisation in the RTM process, and Johanna Buschmann, M.Sc., for her master’s thesis, completed at the German Aerospace Centre, on the improved impact tolerance of 3D fabrics compared to 2D laminates.

Rieter sees Barmag integration on track as orders and sales rise

The first half of 2026 was shaped by the successful completion of the largest acquisition in Rieter’s history. The Man-Made Fiber Division enables entry into the growth segment of man-made fibers and sustainably strengthens Rieter’s market position in the Asia region. The expanded Group is now the world’s leading system supplier for the processing of natural and man-made fibers. In the first half of the year, initial cost savings in material costs and operating expenses have already been realized. The targeted synergies are expected to amount to at least CHF 20 million by the end of the 2028 financial year. Due to the completion of the acquisition on February 2, 2026, the first half of the year for the Man-Made Fiber Division only amounts to five months.
