The Italian leading provider of advanced weaving machines ITEMA sponsors again Milano Unica on 3-5 March 2014, ahead of lavish Grand Opening of new company premises in Shanghai on 6 March 2014.

Itema S.p.A. is proudly sponsoring once again Milano Unica, the exclusive textile fair held in Milan and Shanghai, which brings together the best manufacturers of premium Made in Italy fabrics and apparel. This year the link with Milano Unica is stronger than ever with the President, Mr. Silvio Albini, being the Key Customer Testimonial at Itema’s Grand Opening of the new Shanghai premises immediately following Milano Unica. Mr. Albini, in his role as the President of the eponymous Albini Group, is at the helm of one of the oldest and most loyal customers of Itema. Albini Group is a top European manufacturer of high-quality exclusive shirting fabrics and a real flagship of Made in Italy excellence. Albini Group has eight plants (five in Italy), with a total of more than 1300 employees worldwide.

On March 6th, 2014, Itema will celebrate the Grand Opening of the new Company premises in Shanghai. During the Grand Opening event, Itema will proudly unveil its latest advancements in weaving technology to allow its Customers to produce high quality fabrics and achieve maximum success. Itema to showcase weaving excellence at ITM 2026

From June 9 to 13, Itema will exhibit at ITM 2026 in Istanbul (Hall 8 – Stand 806D), unveiling a distinctive exhibition concept designed to highlight the Company’s expertise across the entire weaving value chain. For this year’s edition, Itema will introduce an innovative stand experience built around two core areas: advanced weaving and spare parts solutions and an immersive textile gallery featuring fabrics produced by Itema Customers worldwide.

Itema America acquires Palmetto Loom Reed, strengthening local manufacturing and service in the U.S.

Itema America, the U.S. subsidiary of Italy-based Itema Group, has acquired – through an Assets Purchase Agreement – Palmetto Loom Reed, a Greenville, South Carolina-based manufacturer of weaving reeds and one of the last remaining domestic producers of these precision components in the United States.

Itema exhibits the two best-selling high-end rapier weaving machines of the Region, R9500EVO and Galileo-RX at SITEX 2026

Following the opening of its new Surat Service Center in November, Itema will exhibit at SITEX (Stand 286) from February 21st to 23rd at the Surat International Exhibition and Convention Centre (SIECC). Surat has long been one of Itema’s most strategic markets, a role further reinforced by the inauguration of the Surat Service Center last November. Equipped with an advanced electronic repair center, a weaving machine behavior simulator, and a local spare parts warehouse, the new facility strengthens Itema’s presence in the region while bringing the company even closer to its Customers.

Picanol to present its leading weaving technology at ITM 2026

Picanol is pleased to announce it will be participating in ITM 2026 in Istanbul. This is a key event for industry professionals to engage with the Turkish textile industry as well as the extensive international audience attending the fair. During the event, Picanol will present its latest innovations to the visitors in Hall 8, booth 802.

DYNEEMA® and NP Aerospace advance personal protection for military servicewomen

Dyneema®, owned by Avient Corporation, an innovator of materials solutions, is supplying its high-performance unidirectional (UD) materials to world-leading armor manufacturer NP Aerospace, enabling the production of armor systems designed specifically to fit the female body. With 2,000 new armor systems, including 4,000 plates, made in the United Kingdom (UK) and delivered in June 2026, this collaboration addresses a long-standing lack of high-quality personal protection specially built for female defense and security personnel.

Textile Exchange publishes comprehensive polyester LCA study

Textile Exchange has released a new Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) study on polyester, providing detailed data on the environmental impacts of both virgin and recycled polyester production. The study aims to strengthen understanding across the fashion, textile and apparel industries and support more informed decision-making regarding polyester sourcing and production.
