Acelon introduces new functional yarns for fire safety and comfort applications

Acelon has presented two new functional yarn developments, AceXflame® and MistX®, aimed at expanding performance options for home textiles, industrial applications, and apparel.

AceXflame® is a PET-based flame-retardant yarn designed for applications where fire protection and durability are critical. In laboratory flame tests, the yarn demonstrated high resistance under direct flame exposure, positioning it as a material solution for safety-focused home textiles and industrial uses. According to Acelon, the development goes beyond material innovation and targets long-term functional performance under demanding conditions.

MistX®, Acelon’s second new yarn, focuses on comfort and aesthetics in apparel. Developed to address common issues in intimate wear and activewear, the mist-free yarn offers increased breathability and a near-invisible appearance in finished fabrics. The yarn is intended for seamless lingerie, activewear, and close-to-skin garments, combining comfort with a clean visual effect.

With the launch of AceXflame® and MistX®, Acelon aims to support brands and manufacturers seeking performance-driven yarn solutions for safety, comfort, and functional textile applications.

Despite these risks, PFAS are still used in a wide range of products. More than 15 years ago, VAUDE made a strategic decision to gradually eliminate PFAS from all product categories.
