Celebrating 25 years of Biella Yarn

With the launch of the new 25th anniversary collection, Biella Yarn invites on an inspiring journey that began in the year 2000 and continues to this day. The new Fall/Winter 26/27 collection pays tribute to the timeless yarns that have shaped the range since the beginning. At the same time, it looks ahead – embracing innovation, smart technologies, and new digital possibilities while staying committed to environmentally responsible solutions.

Since the beginning, Victoria Nm 2/30 and Nm 2/48, 100% Merino Wool Extrafine, has been at the heart of the Biella Yarn collection. Legendary for its softness and versatility, it remains a reliable choice for distinctive and refined designs. Over the years, the core range has expanded to include Brisbane Nm 2/60, 100% Merino Wool Super 120’S. Both yarns are known for their broad colour palette and are available through Biella Yarn stock service.

For both yarns, the new colour palette reflects a yearning for stability and authenticity. The selection is enhanced by deep mid-tones and warm earth tones that embodies timelessness and durability over trends. At the other end of the spectrum, icy, almost ethereal shades evoke sense of tranquility and emotional balance. Between these extremes are new contrasting colours such as blackcurrant and yellow golden shades. The new shades are seamlessly blended with classic and neutral hues to create a timeless palette.

This classic range of yarns is enriched with the addition of luxurious blends Pasco Nm 2/30 (70% Merino Wool Extrafine, anti-shrinkage, 10% Alpaca, 23mic, 20% Silk) and coarse yarns - Ascot Nm 3000 and Ascot Nm 5000 (100% Merino Wool, Super 160’S, anti-shrinkage).

The complementary blend of wool and alginate Sesel Nm 2/60 (70% Merino Wool Extrafine, anti-shrinkage, 30% Alginate) is a new addition in the collection, By combining two natural yet distinct fibres, this yarn provides a smooth, cooling hand-feel that enhances the properties of pure Merino wool through the use of a bio-based and biodegradable fibre derived from seaweed.

Karma is Suedwolle Group’s latest step in circularity, based on a simple idea: to make the most of every yarn produced. By transforming pre-consumer production waste into new yarns, materials stay in use and the need for virgin resources is reduced. Using worsted spinning, Suedwolle Group has developed Alisei Nm 2/30 and Nm 2/48 (80% Merino Wool Extrafine, 20% recycled Wool), a high-quality yarn that combines performance with more responsible resource use.

With the new technology Gammaspun, Morwell Nm 2/30 and Nm 2/48 (60% Cotton, 40% Extrafine Merino Wool, Total Easy Care), and Perth Nm 2/28 and Nm 2/48 (50% Extrafine Merino Wool, Total Easy Care, 50% Acrylic) were developed. Together, they form a new range within the flat knitting collection.

As in previous seasons, Biella Yarn partnered with MRC Knitwear Research Studio to explore the creative potential of its yarns. The result is a series of elegant eveningwear pieces, developed using selected Biella Yarn qualities to highlight their texture, drape, and refined finish.

Lenzing advances its transformation: Higher EBITDA, stronger free cash flow and more than EUR 200 million in cost savings

The business performance of the Lenzing Group in 2025 was affected particularly in the second half of the year by external factors such as international tariff measures, subdued demand and declining market prices. As a result, revenue decreased slightly by 2.3 percent to EUR 2.6 billion, primarily due to lower fiber sales volumes and lower prices for fibers and pulp, which were further negatively impacted by currency developments. Nevertheless, thanks to the comprehensive Performance Program, Lenzing was able to improve its operating performance and key financial indicators compared with the previous year.
