Indorama Ventures showcases sustainability solutions at COP28

Indorama Ventures Public Company Limited, a global sustainable chemical company, presents its innovative sustainability solutions and decarbonization strategy at the 28th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28) from 30 November to 12 December, 2023, at Expo City, Dubai.

In collaboration with the Thai government, Indorama Ventures is showcasing its commitment to achieving net zero at the Thailand Pavilion inside the COP28 exhibition hall. Highlights include groundbreaking investments with global start-ups such as the partnership with SIPA to introduce the world's first sustainable monolayer PET sparkling wine bottle, and partnership with Polymateria to advance biotransformation technology for hygiene items. By emphasizing the company's dedication to sustainability and climate actions, Indorama Ventures aims to underline its pioneering investments in developing sustainable solutions to mitigate PET’s environmental impacts and drive the global circular economy.

Yash Lohia, Chairman of the ESG Council at Indorama Ventures, said, "Climate change poses a threat to the wellbeing of future generations, as well as being one of the most immediate risks to businesses globally. Indorama Ventures is committed to increasing our use of renewable energy, producing low-carbon products, and using more efficient resources. We are on track to achieve our 2025 goals and setting even more ambitious targets for 2030. Our participation at COP28 underscores the environmental stewardship collaboration between Indorama Ventures and the Thai government in addressing global climate challenges.”




Indorama Ventures’ Chief Sustainability Officer, Dr. Anthony M. Watanabe, participated in a keynote session on "The Role of Circularity in Building a Low-Carbon World" and a panel discussion on "Bio-Circular-Green Economy: A Road towards Net Zero" at the Thailand Pavilion. Dr. Watanabe reaffirmed Indorama Ventures’ support for the Thai government’s environmental policies as one of the country’s biggest investors with over 30 years of heritage in Thailand.
