Indorama Ventures supports KH Editions in building on its RECO experience Taking Thai circular fashion to New York Fashion Week
Two fashion looks and accessories crafted from fabrics woven with deja™ recycled polyester yarn showcase the potential of recycled materials to combine sustainability, quality, and distinctive streetwear design
By connecting recycled materials and industry expertise with the creativity of emerging Thai designers, Indorama Ventures aims to help demonstrate the potential of Thai fashion to deliver distinctive, high-quality products that respond to the global transition toward a more circular economy.
KH Editions is a Thai fashion brand built around the concept of “Creative Streetwear.” It reinterprets Thai craftsmanship and identity through distinctive, playful, and experimental streetwear while emphasizing the creation of new value from waste and recycled materials. This year, the brand was selected by the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), Ministry of Commerce, through the Thai Trade Center in New York, to participate in a program promoting Thai fashion brands and creative talent in international markets.
For the two looks and accompanying accessories, KH Editions used fabrics woven with deja™ recycled polyester yarn provided by Indorama Ventures. The designs bring together the brand’s distinctive streetwear identity and RECO’s ambition to take recycled materials beyond perceived possibilities, transforming them into high-quality, well-designed products that consumers genuinely want to choose and use.
As consumers and global brands increasingly seek products with a lower environmental impact and as regulations in many markets encourage greater use of recycled content, materials such as deja™ can help the fashion industry transition toward a more circular model. The collaboration demonstrates that recycled materials, such as used PET bottles, can support this transition without compromising the quality, functionality, or creative design.
Mr. Napat Tansuwan, Co-founder and Art Director of KH Editions, said: “We do not see recycled materials and fabrics as limitations on design, but as starting points for new possibilities. This perspective began with our experience participating in the RECO Young Designer Competition in 2018 and 2020, when we were still students, before returning to participate in RECO Collective in 2023 and 2025. These experiences helped us deepen our understanding of materials and product development while building connections with industry partners.
“For this collection, we wanted to demonstrate that environmentally conscious alternative materials can be transformed into bold, playful, and distinctive streetwear while still clearly expressing the identity of our brand. Presenting the collection in New York also provides an important opportunity to share this idea with a wider audience and showcase the potential of Thai design on the global stage.”
Indorama Ventures launched the RECO program in 2011 as the RECO Young Designer Competition, providing emerging designers with opportunities to learn about and experiment with rPET and recycled polyester materials and develop them into practical products with commercial potential. In 2023, the program evolved into RECO Collective, connecting designers, SME entrepreneurs, material manufacturers, experts, and industry partners while supporting product development, brand building, and market readiness.
Mrs. Aradhana Lohia Sharma, Vice President of Finance and Wool Business at Indorama Ventures, said: “Throughout RECO’s journey, we have seen significant progress in the understanding of the circular economy and the possibilities offered by recycled materials. Today, the challenge is no longer simply to prove that recycled materials can be transformed into new products. It is about making these materials part of products that people genuinely want to wear, use, and purchase.
KH Editions’ ability to build on its RECO experience and create designs for the showcase at New York Fashion Week demonstrates how ideas developed through RECO can progress toward practical applications. When material expertise comes together with creativity, and when material producers, designers, and value-chain partners collaborate, recycled materials can be transformed into high-quality, distinctive products with strong market potential.
We are also proud to support the Thai government’s efforts to bring Thai design and creative talent to international audiences. By supporting KH Editions with recycled materials, industry knowledge, and connections developed through RECO, we hope to help showcase not only the creativity of Thai designers, but also their ability to respond to evolving global expectations for more sustainable products.”
Following KH Editions’ showcase in New York, Indorama Ventures will launch the RECO Collective 2026 fashion show in October, marking the program’s 12th edition. The program will continue to connect designers, entrepreneurs, material innovators, and industry partners to explore new approaches to using recycled materials, create greater value for products, and expand the possibilities of design for the circular economy.
