China brought its largest exhibitor group to ATSC, putting “China Brand” under the spotlight

Apparel Textile Sourcing Canada (ATSC), which has been online for the past two years due to the pandemic, finally returned to Toronto on November 7 this year. The exhibition attracted more than 150 apparel, fabric and home textile companies from overseas. In total more than a dozen countries and regions are participating in the exhibition, including China, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, South Korea, Mongolia, Vietnam, and more. The event anticipates over 2000 attendees during the 3-day trade event held at the Toronto Congress Centre.

China gathered 60 exhibitors to participate in the exhibition, including ten major Chinese brands curated within the “China Brand” Pavilion focused on bringing updated designs and fashion to the professional buyers attending ATSC. These brands include Aparso, V Roc V, Bella Fitness, Rion Sports, Tian Thai Sports, Evergreen, Beyond Garments, Mizuda, Wanshun, and Changshu Garments Town.

Both Hubei and Zhejiang Provinces sponsored Pavilions, each bringing 20 high-quality textile and garment suppliers to the event. Thirteen of the Chinese manufacturers came in person to the Toronto show this week, while the other’s participating from China chose to utilize local Canadian representatives on-site.

On the first day of the exhibition, Liu Linlin, Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Consulate-General in Toronto; Bob Kirke, Executive Director of the Canadian Apparel Federation; Yadmaa Aridunbold, Ambassador of Mongolia to Canada; Hossain Mohammad Al-Muzahid, Apoorva Srivastava, Indian Consul General in Toronto; Quynh Tran, Head of the Commercial Office at the Embassy of Vietnam in Canada; First Secretary (Commercial) of the Bangladeshi High Commission in Canada; Sohail Raza Dodhy, Secretary of the Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers Association, and ATSC Show Organizer & CEO of JP Communications, Inc. Jason Prescott, attended the exhibition.

Data show that from January to September 2022, China's textile and apparel exports to Canada amounted to $3.85 billion, indicating that Chinese textile enterprises are still actively seeking to reach customers despite the tightening economic situation. Several exhibitors stated that ATSC remains one of the most efficient ways for overseas companies to enter Canadian market.

Most Chinese product samples from the ATSC event will be displayed at the Sample Showroom in Toronto, please feel free to visit after the exhibition.
