The delegation included Michael Miller, Ambassador of the European Union to Bangladesh, Joris van Bommel, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Bangladesh, Gabriel María Sistiaga Ochoa de Chinchetru, Ambassador of Spain to Bangladesh, as well as representatives of Bangladesh Eurocham.

During the visit, Recover™ presented its mechanical recycling process, which transforms textile waste into recycled cotton fiber for use in new yarns and textiles. The company highlighted its Bangladesh facility as an example of how post-industrial textile waste can be recycled locally and reintroduced into textile production.

The discussions focused on the opportunities arising from future EU textile regulations, including the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), which is expected to introduce requirements related to durability, circularity, recycled content and traceability for textiles.

Michael Miller described Recover™’s operation as "an exceptionally modern plant" and said the company’s activities were closely aligned with the European Union’s sustainability ambitions. Joris van Bommel said Recover™ was "walking the talk on sustainability" by demonstrating that circular textile production is possible in practice.

According to Gabriel María Sistiaga Ochoa de Chinchetru, Recover™ represents the largest Spanish direct investment in Bangladesh’s textile and recycling sector and illustrates the potential for further investment in circular textile manufacturing.
