Hexcel announces official opening of FAHCCT laboratory in Shanghai

Hexcel (NYSE:HXL), Progen and Future Aerospace celebrated the official opening of their new joint venture laboratory and materials testing facility in Shanghai, China.

Future Aerospace Hexcel Commercial Composite Testing Limited(FAHCCT)will provideChina with a world-class aerospace standard materials testing laboratory that provides technical services including support with materials qualification for commercial aircraft programs. Planned activities at the site will include mechanical and chemical testing of composite laminate specimens (including fatigue performance), material qualifications, and provision of support for customer supply chains in China.

This extensive new laboratory, with more than 1,000 square meters of floor space, will be fully operational in the coming weeks, employing 18 technicians to perform highly reliable testing of composite materials for commercial aerospace customers in China and the wider Asian region.

The new laboratory was awarded AS9100 certification in May 2019 and will work on existing and future aerospace customer specifications using state of the art equipment and standards that are already in use at other Hexcel facilities worldwide.

ALADIN paves the way for circular and demand-driven textile production in Europe

Textile production can be organized sustainably by utilizing short supply chains and preventing overproduction. This can already be achieved today by intelligently connecting and efficiently utilizing existing infrastructure. At the same time, production becomes circular when innovative technologies and materials are used that enable high-quality recycling. Effective September 1, 2026, the Board will consist of Philipp Ebbinghaus (CEO), Dr. Ulrich Hornfeck (currently CCO, future COO), and Katharina Obergruber (CCO). Ence and ShareTex begin initial testing of the ATENEA innovation project to promote textile recycling in Spain

Ence and ShareTex are making progress on the Atenea R&D project, which aims to develop a complete value chain for textile recycling in Spain.
