Just recently, in Italy, the Group called on local companies –which promptly came on board– to set up a reliable and approved production chain at industrial level to make much-needed protective equipment for medical personnel (Read the news on our website; then newspapers and magazines published articles focusing on this issue, here some examples: nonwovens-industry, eppm, corriere della sera).

With its textile business area, the Group has always been active in the medical field supplying polyamide and polyester yarns for various applications. Now RadiciGroup commitment for these applications is stronger to stand up to Covid-19 complex challenge.

The vertically integrated supply chain of RadiciGroup allows a full control of the production(strictly EU made, Oekotex 1a certified) and a wide range of specialties – such as antimony free, antibacterial, and others – for inbody, sanitary gowns and clothing, compression garments, orthopaedic braces and supports, face masks, hospital furnishing, etc.

RadiciGroup has published its 21st Sustainability Report, covering the year 2024, confirming more than two decades of transparency and measurement in the economic, environmental, and social dimensions. From its first Social Report in 2004 to the current reporting aligned with the GRI Universal Standards, the Group is now preparing for its next challenge: the adoption of the criteria that will be set out by the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).

Synthetic polymers used in technical textiles can be effectively protected against degradation caused by heat, oxygen, and water through the use of stabilizer systems. This enables service lives of several decades, extending to more than 50 years. As the use of durable technical textiles continues to grow, so does the demand for reliable methods to predict their service life within economically feasible testing periods. For the first time the German Institutes of Textile and Fiber Research Denkendorf (DITF) developed methods for robust service life prediction for textiles in an IGF research project.
