The MUNICH FABRIC START is a must to get comprehensive information of trends, colours, silhouettes and materials (c) 2014 MUNICH FABRIC START
As the first among the international textile trade fairs, MUNICH FABRIC START – from 4 to 6 February 2014 in Munich – presents the latest textile innovations and industry trends for the Spring/Summer 2015 season. Around 900 select exhibitors from 35 countries are expected, with an impressive assortment of collections – roughly 700 exhibitors in COLLECTIONS and some 190 in ADDITIONALS present their textile and material innovations.
  • Constant growth in textile and accessories manufacturers
  • Munich has established as signifi cant international location
  • Fully booked BLUEZONE with new exhibitors
  • TREND REPORT – impressive mix of elegance and nonchalance

This has the organisers looking optimistically toward three inspirational trade fair days. The portfolio features a mix of select basic to high-end collections that are presented on 45,000 square meters. The consistently positive tendency seen in the pre-seasons, with constant growth in textile and accessories manufacturers compared to the previous year, continues on. This is also proven in the continued rise in visitor numbers while the internationality has increased. With some 20,000 international trade visitors, MUNICH FABRIC START is holding ever greater appeal for visitors from the represented foreign countries.

„With a select portfolio and market-relevant areas, MUNICH FABRIC START continues to establish itself and streng then its position as an international trade fair. The early date of the fair as a season opener, and the strong German market as a basis in the background, are additional factors that contribute to the growing international importance of Munich as an opportunity for early information,“ states MUNICH FABRIC START Managing Director Wolfgang Klinder.

„The German market is getting more exciting all the time,“ exclaims Emiliano Bonotto of the manufacturer ofthe same name, who already presented his collection innovations in December at the exclusive preview eventVIEW in Munich. „I used to choose what I showed in Germany: highlights were generally left out and the focuswas on commercial items. Now there is much more fashion.

“With „HAUTE SPORTURE“ the new season is manifesting in an impressive mix of elegance and non chalance. High-tech textiles meet clear styles; the high art of couture meets sporty infl uences. The creative search for new silhouettes and proportions shows up repeatedly, always with touch of casualness. And a sort of harmless hedonism accompanies all trends, implemented with a sporty elegance – transparent and clear. Next to selected contrast colours, the colour palette features undercover highlights, from pale pastels, soft beiges and shades of white to true transparents. The combination of reflective to matt and super-soft to grainy is particularly effective combined with this uncoloured tranquillity. Earthy basics shine with a modern brilliance.

Alongside interesting new exhibitors the Marzotto Group will – after its successful participation in September– also be represented again with its complete portfolio including such brands as Marlane, Guabello, Talliadi Delfi no, Ratti, Tessitura Monti and others that further underline the high-quality range of face fabrics formenswear. Another focal theme of MUNICH FABRIC START is ADDITIONALS. Occupying more than two exhibition halls here will be some 190 of the world’s leading suppliers of findings and accessories for the apparel industry including Union Knopf, Knopf Schäfer, Fabian, Köhnen, Consortio F.I.T, AMF, Cadica Group, Swarovski, to name but a few. With in excess of 100 selected exhibitors and interesting newcomers ASIASALON will again be showcasing developments from the Far East. Here powerhouse partners from China and Korea with a focus on quality can be met. For detailed information on the trend themes as well as visuals please refer to the attached TREND REPORT. With another increase in exhibitors the BLUEZONE presents it self on 4 and 5 February in a sold-outZenith Hall. 71 international denim weavers, finishers and washers, including the who‘s who of the denim community, show the latest denim innovations, washes and finishes. Next to established jeans giantssuch as TRC Candiani, Isko, Orta, Royo, Calik and Lan Europa, several new exhibitors are represented, including A&A, Atlantic Mills, Cotonifi cio Veneto, I.MA.TEX, Fashion Tex, Jass (RMS), M&J, Niggeler & Küpfer, Nokitex-Maibom, Stitch & Trim and other suppliers. Rounding off the offerings are the established divisions GREENZONE, R.M.S Ready Made Solutions und TiST – Tomorrow is Today, featuring a first sneak peek at the Autumn/Winter 15/16 season.

Pure denim inspiration can be found once again in Cube X, which has established itself as a creative think tank after a successful introduction, and presents trend lectures by the official trend partner WGSN, as well as inspiring collections of rare publications from Soda Books and future visions from Powerhouse.

True to the BLUEZONE season title „HOMIES & NERDS“, two life philosophies collide, forming the fashionable and trendy field for a play of opposites between denims and fl at woven fabrics in the summer of 2015. One can observe, for example, ensuing from the still oh-so-essential skin-tight jeans, the emergence of anantipole that reaches all the way to jeans with a pleated waist band. The diverse repertoire consists of a loose, trashy „baggy denim look“ in contrast to an accurate, slender silhouette, repaired patch, bleached, coded statements, laser motifs, a chic biker style and lots of stretch.

LONG-TERM CO-OPERATION & SEGMENTATION
Strategically, the upcoming event is characterised by cooperation and segmentation in order to tailor theoverall concept to the current market situation, particularly in regard to Europe is focused more and more asa production location again. To this end, already established exhibition areas and segments have been furtherenlarged and optimised. This is the case, for example, with the DESIGN STUDIOS, which offers a newly designed exhibition area where the 22 international trend consultancies and agencies will present the latestdesigns and individual design solutions. Similarly, the ECO VILLAGE has been revamped and presents itselfmore innovative this season as the competence centre for sustainability with the organicsselection as well asinternational experts.
