Representing the fair organiser, Ms Wendy Wen, Director, Trade Fairs for Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, said: “The increased number of exhibitors is partly due to new suppliers from Japan, Korea and India wanting to take advantage of the growing sourcing demand from Chinese brands for high quality and innovative design products, as the desire for quality products is growing in China. Additionally, exhibitors also want to seize the opportunities that arise from Southern China being the centre of China’s garment manufacturing, particularly for ladieswear.”

Long term exhibitors R&D Textile Co Ltd from Korea and Fung Ming Ribbon Industrial Ltd from Hong Kong are pleased with the business opportunities resulting from the show. R&D Textile Co Ltd produces acetate satin, crepe, print/jacquard and knitted fabrics for ladieswear. Mr Martin Kang, CEO of  R&D Textile Co Ltd said: “I believe there is a huge market for our products. From my observation, fabric quality is now a top priority for Chinese buyers because Chinese customers love high quality, innovative and unique imported products. “

Mr Andy Lam, General Manager of Fung Ming Ribbon Industrial Ltd added: “We met old customers from Southern China while at the same time, this fair is our brand promotion channel to attract new customers. With the great demand of ladieswear brands produced  in China, Intertextile Shenzhen is a good one-stop platform to connect both visitors and exhibitors.“

First time exhibitor Crystal Cloth Co Ltd from Japan was promoting its new ladieswear collection. Mr Atsushi Yamazaki, the company’s President said: “We have set up a branch office in Dongguan, and the most effective way to share our information with buyers and trading agents in the Southern China market is to join an exhibition like this one. Another reason is that with keen competition between all suppliers in Beijing and Shanghai, there is room to explore new customers in Shenzhen.“ Vinayak International Ltd from India was another first time exhibitor, and the company was pleased with its results. Mr Sunil Kumar Chhaperia, a Director of the company commented: “It’s exciting to confirm some business deals from domestic garment manufacturers and private labels on site. We are happy to see a large amount of orders and will definitely join the show next year. Guangdong is at the heart of high quality ladieswear manufacturers in China, and the show is an ideal platform to showcase our tailor-made Indian products.“

Bernini Studio Srl also made an appearance at the show for the first time. Representing the Italian company, Ms Roberta Montorfano said: “We picked Shenzhen as a trial presence in the Southern China market. As the only European exhibitor here, the result is positive because we met customers from Hangzhou and Hong Kong - and they loved our bright contrast colours and tropical greens for menswear and beach wear. We have the confidence to join the show next year.“

Many of the buyers visiting the show represented local brands with manufacturing bases in China, such as Embry (China) Garments Ltd, Shenzhen Marisfrolg Fashion Co Ltd, Galaday Apparel & Accessories (Shenzhen) Co Ltd, Shenzhen Xingtai Season Wind Fashion Co Ltd, Lilly Company Ltd, Shenzhen Ellassay Fashion Co Ltd, Shenzhen BBLLUUEE wardrobe Costume Limited Company.

Buyers were also able to enjoy the concurrent 12th China (Shenzhen) International Brand Clothing & Accessories Fair in halls 1, 2 & 9, as well as a fashion show in hall 5.

Mr Neuber Vieira Maciel Junior, a Senior Merchandiser with the Brazilian company Universe Import & Export Ltd, visited the show for the first time looking for silk and cotton. He commented: “It is a smart decision to hold the show concurrently with other fashion related events. This arrangement shares a lot of inspiration and information to get a better understand of upcoming market trends. If the product is popular in China, this means that there is a high possibility for it to be accepted by worldwide customers.“

Russian buyer Ms Olga Verkholantsev, Sourcing Manager for Incity, agreed: “Combining two major events in one single location offers convenience for all visitors.“

Ms Joyce Chung, Senior Fashion Designer for Tak Fung Fashion Company Limited, Hong Kong added: “This is a reputable brand show for textile sourcing in the industry and it is guaranteed that there are good quality suppliers here. It is also excellent to have the International Brand Clothing & Accessories Fair held in the same period and venue, so I can visit both shows.“

The 2013 Intertextile Pavilion at Shenzhen is organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd; the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT; and Shenzhen Garment Industry Association.
