New disperse dyes deliver outstanding economic and operational excellence

Huntsman Textile Effects has extended its range of high-performance TERASIL® dyes to now provide economical, robust and reliable exhaust dyeing of polyester, polyester/cotton and microfiber and elastane blends. The new TERASIL® TC disperse dyes allow mills to improve plant efficiency and productivity with right-first-time performance and excellent shade reproducibility.

Demand for polyester is outpacing other fibers, with some industry reports suggesting a growth rate of more than 5% year-on-year for the next five years. The cutting-edge TERASIL® TC range was developed to help mills meet this demand in an economically and environmentally sustainable way.

TERASIL® TC dyes exhibit very good application properties and are highly compatible, with a high standard of leveling performance and very good reproducibility. They provide minimum sensitivity to reduction, good fastness to dry heat, good pH stability, good coverage of barriness and minimum staining on adjacent cotton fiber. These properties help mills improve efficiency and productivity to minimize rejections and achieve a higher return on investment.

Compatibility with key industry standards and a complete color range further support textile mills to win and retain customers in a more competitive global environment. The new TERASIL® range comprises a complete set of intelligent mixes for dyeing medium to dark shades, with six colors currently available: yellow, orange, rubine red, blue, turquoise and black*. The dyes fulfill OEKO-TEX® 100 requirements, are bluesign®-certified, and satisfy the Restricted Substances List (RSL) requirements of the major brands and the Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) Group.

Huntsman secures bluesign® APPROVED status for IROGRAN® TPU products

Global chemical company Huntsman has secured bluesign® approval for ten of its IROGRAN® thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) products, which are used extensively across the textile and apparel industry. The materials in question are part of Huntsman’s IROGRAN® film and sheet portfolio, and can be used to enhance the production, performance, and comfort of stitchless, seamless garments including underwear, sportswear, and outdoor and waterproof clothing.
