Alchemie joins prestigious launch of commemorative album on King Charles III 75th Birthday

© 2023 Alchemie Technology
Alchemie Technology had the honour of being invited to the book launch of "King Charles III: The Leadership and Vision of a Modern Monarch." This distinguished event coincided with the King’s 75th birthday and took place at Claridge’s in London on 14 November 2023.

The book is an expertly researched and written, fully illustrated, hardback title authored by The New York Times best-selling writer and royal author Robert Jobson. The commemorative album also features the photography of legendary royal photographer Arthur Edwards MBE, who has been capturing images of the Royal Family for more than 45 years.

Charting King Charles’s life from his celebrated birth and early years, through his role and responsibilities as the Prince of Wales, to his accession and coronation as King, the book reflects on the ideas and issues that he has championed along the way. It also considers how The King intends to shape a relevant and future-facing monarchy for the world of today and tomorrow.

The hardback book, published by St. James’s House, was unveiled at Claridge’s in London to an audience of 400 attending guests and members of the press.

St James’s House has produced landmark publications on the British Royal Family for more than two decades and has been the official publisher for several major royal events, including the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant, The Queen’s 90th Birthday Celebration and The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Pageant.

The commemorative album showcases research and innovations, spotlighting advancements across social, cultural, technological, and commercial domains. Alchemie Technology is prominently featured in a dedicated chapter on Sustainability champions, focussing on Alchemie's textile dyeing and finishing technologies which significantly minimize energy consumption and wastewater emissions.

During visits to dye houses in China, Dr Alan Hudd, CEO & Founder of Alchemie Technology, witnessed firsthand the detrimental environmental effects of the outdated dye industry.

“The light bulb moment came when I was touring one of 50 or 60 dye houses in China” says Dr Hudd “These locations pose significant concerns, particularly regarding pollution due to the extensive dumping of chemicals into rivers. It is an industry that's lagging behind, reminiscent of a bygone era. I showed the owner of the dye business a video of the technology I was developing, and he said it had the potential to transform textile dyeing. That was when I realised this technology has the power to change the industry.”

As a result, Dr Hudd founded Alchemie Technology in 2013 and developed two groundbreaking technologies: Endeavour Waterless Smart Dyeing and Novara Digital Textile Finishing. These two innovations use non-contact jetting to deliver 270 million drops per second on to the fabric and will dramatically reduce energy consumption whilst also eliminating contaminated wastewater emissions.

Alchemie’s clean-tech solutions will not only reduce the negative impact on the environment of highly polluting processes but also deliver five times more production from a smaller factory footprint, which will allow the companies to achieve higher revenue and lower operating costs.

This type of sustainable innovation is something that King Charles III has long been advocating as essential to securing the future of the planet. Sustainably printed and delivered to the publisher’s exacting standards, "King Charles III: The Leadership and Vision of a Modern Monarch" is an elegantly designed, engaging and informative read, and is destined to become yet another treasured collector’s item from St James’s House.
