Carrington Textiles expands military range with ProTact by Haartz®

Global military fabrics manufacturer Carrington Textiles has partnered with Haartz® GmbH to bring the ProTact by Haartz® range of laminated fabrics to Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Australia and New Zealand.

Following an earlier announcement of the collaboration, this partnership expands Carrington Textiles’ specialist portfolio of defence fabrics with high performance technical laminates designed for military and tactical equipment. Manufactured in Germany by Haartz® GmbH, the ProTact range is engineered to meet the demanding requirements of modern military applications, including rucksacks, load carrying systems, vests and pouches.

The range offers several technical benefits for tactical equipment manufacturers, including:

Laser-cut ready - clean edges, no residue
Reduced fraying - precision layer bonding
Superior flexibility - softer feel, more comfortable wear
CORDURA® Truelock technology - consistent colour, UV fade resistance
No delamination - even in extreme conditions

The initial range includes ProTact G510.1, a 500D/1000D fabric offered in black, coyote brown and the MultiCam® camouflage pattern, and ProTact G55.1, a 500D/500D option available in black, coyote brown and ranger green.

ProTact by Haartz® has already proven itself in the field with advanced durability and protection. The addition of this range complements Carrington Textiles’ existing military fabric offering and further strengthens its position as a trusted supplier to defence forces and tactical equipment manufacturers.

Carrington Textiles launches new Fabric Collection Guides at A+A

Global workwear textiles manufacturer Carrington Textiles marked a successful return to A+A in Düsseldorf with the launch of 13 new fabrics and the official debut of their redesigned Fabric Collection Guides. KARL MAYER looks back with satisfaction on its participation in Techtextil 2026. From April 21 to 24, the international industry leader used the trade show in Frankfurt to meet with numerous key customers at its booth and, at the same time, establish many new contacts. KARL MAYER inaugurated its new, state-of-the-art TEXTILE INNOVATION CENTER (TIC) with a four-day opening week from April 21 to 24. With more than 36,000 visitors and 1,700 exhibitors from a total of 112 countries, Techtextil and Texprocess 2026 demonstrated how innovation comes into industrial use. The convergence of research, industry and application proved to be a breeding ground for new material solutions, manufacturing and processing technologies. Natural fibres, performance apparel, connected systems and AI-driven processing technologies emerged as key growth and future markets.

STFI highlights textile circular economy and alternative fibres at INDEX™ 2026

From 19 to 22 May 2026, INDEX will invite visitors to Lake Geneva for the world's leading nonwovens trade fair. The Centre of Excellence in Nonwovens at the Sächsisches Textilforschung- sinstitut e.V. (STFI) will be in attendance to present the latest developments in nonwovens research. In the field of the textile circular economy, the STFI will present acoustically effective nonwovens made from chemical recycling residues. The range also includes innovations aimed at replacing conventional raw materials, such as the biobased and biodegradable polymer polybutylene succinate (PBS) and Kendyr as an alternative to cotton.
