Sleep products innovator and inventor Tracy Miller collaborates with Eastman on sustainable bedding line

Combining comfort and sustainability, Eastman and sleep products innovator and inventor Tracy Miller are collaborating on a new bedding line using Eastman Naia™ Renew cellulosic fiber made from 60% sustainably sourced wood pulp and 40% certified* reclaimed carpets diverted from landfills.

Eastman's move into the bedding market follows the success of Naia™ in the fashion industry. Now the company is working with an expert who has created dynamic product experiences that have led to a better night's sleep for more than 15 years.

Miller's new line with Naia™ Renew features blended sheets with cotton and lyocell in a variety of colors, as well as bed pillows, comforters, and mattress pads. All products will promote the synergistic connection between technology and sustainability to provide sleepers with new experiences in comfort and well-being.

"One of the reasons we're excited to work with Tracy is that she is never going to compromise on quality and performance," said Dnyanada Satam, segment market manager for fiber textiles at Eastman. "She is experienced in bringing innovative bedding products to the market, and one of the great strengths of Naia™ Renew is that it is a circular solution that is available at scale."

Two in three U.S. consumers say they are more interested in purchasing bed sheets made from sustainable fibers since the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a 2021 Eastman study. More than half of U.S. consumers say comfort (69%), quality (66%) and softness (60%) are very important to their bed sheet purchase decisions.

Hypoallergenic Naia™ Renew fibers are naturally skin friendly and provide bedding with excellent moisture management qualities, resulting in a drier, cooler, and more comfortable night's sleep.

"I believe in the emotional value of innovation and am inspired by Eastman's passion and dedication to sustainability," said Tracy Miller, founder of Inventive Sleep. "This collection thoughtfully incorporates Naia™ Renew fibers into your favorite bedding products to marry a story of nature plus sustainability plus technical performance in a groundbreaking way. It's known that a good night's sleep is a key to wellness, and I'm so excited to introduce consumers to functional sleep products that are also key to the wellness of our environment."

Naia™ Renew is fully traceable with certified biodegradability that captures the value of hard-to-recycle materials such as carpet fibers and plastic packaging otherwise destined for landfills. It can be produced at scale to deliver sustainability without compromise.

Available as both a filament yarn and a staple fiber, Naia™ Renew offers clear advantages over other materials — delivering enhanced comfort, long-lasting quality, ease of care and a luxurious feel.
