This highly anticipated forum, taking place at the prestigious Royal Library of Belgium in Brussels, is designed to address critical topics surrounding sustainability, from circular economy innovations to responsible production practices. It promises to deliver actionable insights and foster collaboration across the nonwovens value chain.

The EDANA Sustainability Forum evolved from EDANA’s Circular Nonwovens Forum and is set to cover all major sustainability topics relevant to the nonwovens industry, including circularity, the bioeconomy, consumer expectations, and natural raw materials.

Today marks the official commencement of the World Continence Week. To honour this global awareness initiative, EDANA has published a comprehensive report titled "The Central Role of Absorbent Hygiene Products in the Management of Adult Urinary Incontinence: Benefits, Costs and Environmental Impact." The World Continence Week (WCW) is an annual global initiative dedicated to raising public awareness about incontinence and bladder or bowel health issues. Traditionally held in June, this awareness week aims to shed light on a condition that affects millions of people worldwide but is frequently kept secret due to widespread social stigma, embarrassment, and taboo.

In the GREEN project, the Fraunhofer Cluster of Excellence Circular Plastics Economy CCPE demonstrates that recycled polypro-pylene (PP), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), and high-density polyeth-ylene (HDPE) can be processed into nonwovens, fibers, and membranes that meet industrial requirements. This creates opportunities for use in existing production lines and new value chains in the geotextile market.
