INVISTA unveils new direct-to-mold Nylon product offerings

INVISTA, a global leader in the manufacture of chemical intermediates, polymers and fibers for the nylon and polypropylene value chains, unveiled three new direct-to-mold nylon product offerings today at K Fair in Germany.

The new products include black versions of the company’s U4820L and U4630HSL nylon 6,6 resins, as well as a new UV- and heat-stabilized black nylon 6,6 resin for direct-to-mold applications. These offerings expand the company’s existing lubricated nylon 6,6 polymer portfolio amid increasing customer demand and will provide customers with enhanced options for durable, color-consistent nylon solutions tailored for high-performance molding applications. Additionally, the black versions of U4820L and U4630HSL products are UL Yellow Card certified.

Each product benefits from a black concentrate additive that is engineered to deliver excellent color uniformity and allow for reliable processability to meet the evolving demands of markets such as automotive and industrial components.

“Customers asked and we listened – they needed a black lubricated offering that brings the same quality, consistency and processing ease as our natural-colored lubricated resins,” said Steve Easley, Director, Nylon Polymer for the Americas, INVISTA. “By expanding our portfolio, we provide customers with more flexible and robust solutions for color and UV stability, enabling them to improve both aesthetics and durability in their molded nylon parts.”

Direct-to-mold processors can experience significant advantages with these three new products, as they help streamline the manufacturing process by eliminating the need for additional steps typically required when incorporating color and UV stabilizers into nylon polymers during processing. As a result, processors can achieve greater efficiency and consistency in their production processes, potentially improving productivity while maintaining high standards of color uniformity and UV resistance in molded parts.

Sampling of all three new nylon 6,6 products is available globally for customers to evaluate performance in their specific applications. Contact your INVISTA representative for more information and to request a sample.
