Textile ETP discusses sustainability and digitalisation at digitALL Fashion Innovation Summit

Lutz Walter's presentation highlighted the sustainability challenges encountered by the textile and fashion industry today. From environmental impact to waste management, the sector faces hurdles that require innovative solutions. One recurring theme emphasised by Lutz was the power of digitalisation in overcoming these obstacles, and its pivotal role in practically implementing almost all elements of the EU Textile Strategy.

On 12 July, Secretary General, Lutz Walter, had the privilege of addressing the audience of the digitALL Fashion Innovation Summit in Munich, Germany.

From the digital product passport which improves traceability and transparency in the supply chain, to ecodesign where digital tools help integrate sustainable principles from the beginning, promoting a circular approach and optimising resource: digitalisation go hand in hand with sustainability. He also mentioned that waste and overproduction can be reduced and better managed by digital solutions that enable better tracking and redirection of waste towards recycling or upcycling initiatives.

The event served as an invaluable platform for networking and collaboration, enabling attendees to connect with partners and industry members dedicated to driving change. Lutz had the opportunity to catch up with ETP members such as the Institute of Textile Machinery and High Performance Material Technology at TU Dresden, Albstadt-Sigmaringen University, Mitwill Textiles Europe Textiles, and Reutlingen University.

Responsible Textile Recovery Act of 2024 signed by Governor

Lenze receives IEC 62443-4-1 certification: TÜV Rheinland confirms cyber-secure development process
