Slack & Parr at ITMA Asia + CITME 2025

Precision gear metering specialist Slack & Parr will showcase its enhanced range of large capacity gear pumps for the heavy denier, industrial and nonwoven markets at ITMA Asia + CITME 2025 in Singapore from October 28-31, in Hall 4 at stand D305.

Slack & Parr, a member of the British Textile Machinery Association (BTMA), supplies its high-accuracy gear metering pumps to all areas of the manmade fibre market where they are used to process a wide variety of polymers and fibres and deliver uniformity and consistency in the manufacture of high-quality yarns and textiles including acrylic, polyester, nylon, spandex and aramid.

The company, which has supplied its technologies into the international technical textiles sector for many years, has now launched an updated range of specialist IDY pumps. These offer a robust and reliable solution to process high viscosity polymers for industrial yarns. The technology has been engineered to withstand challenging environments involving high pressures and high temperatures while maintaining accurate flow at variable speeds.

Slack & Parr’s industrial yarn metering pumps have been further developed in collaboration with a major Japanese plant equipment manufacturer. As part of the collaboration, Slack and Parr undertook a detailed review of the pumps’ design features with particular attention to pump strengths, material selection, and performance.

An extensive trial phase resulted in Slack & Parr being approved to supply its pump technologies for the manufacturer’s equipment. The pumps are compatible for use on new and existing IDY machine installations around the world.

At ITMA Asia, visitors will have the opportunity to discuss the pumps’ defining features and specifications for individual applications. Pump designs include 1- and 2-outlet designs with a wide range of capacities from 5-50cc/rev increasing to a possible 100cc/rev in the single stream version, and 4-outlet options with capacities ranging from 15 – 50cc/rev, all with a choice of sealing method and drives.

“We’re seeing steady growth in the industrial yarn market as manufacturers look to diversify into new areas of technical textiles, to expand their portfolios and increase profitability while retaining market share, says Slack & Parr’s Global Sales Director Paul Wykes. “Customers that have traditionally focused their businesses in commodity markets like polyester and nylon are now using their expertise to expand into speciality fibre and industrial markets.

“As a trusted partner with an extensive range of products developed and tested over many decades and the expertise and flexibility to be able to match our metering technologies to the exact needs of the application, we’re ideally placed to partner with manufacturers that want to diversify into new markets.”
