DOMOTEX Worldwide: 2019 subsidiary shows to kick off soon

DOMOTEX Worldwide: 2019 subsidiary shows to kick off soon (c) 2019 Domotex
After a successful DOMOTEX 2019 exhibition in Hannover, preparations for the four strong subsidiary shows are in full swing. With DOMOTEX Turkey and DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR, the world’s leading trade fair for carpets and floor coverings has been bringing together international industry protagonists for several years.

DOMOTEX is a unique platform that brings together the world's carpet and floor coverings industry at different locations around the globe. The show is unrivalled in its ability to help providers present and market their latest products to carefully targeted buyer groups in the world's most promising markets. The international parent show in Hannover, Germany, is complemented by specialized offshoots in the Asia-Pacific region, the Middle East and, for the first time this year, in the Americas region.

Deutsche Messe's new DOMOTEX USA and DOMOTEX Mexico shows reflect the company's ongoing drive to build worldwide awareness of the DOMOTEX brand and further strengthen its core floor coverings business. DOMOTEX Turkey is located in Gaziantep, right in the heart of the country's carpet industry in Southeast Anatolia. Shanghai, the home of DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR, has proven its worth as the ideal platform for the Asia-Pacific region for over 20 years.

DOMOTEX USA premiere in the American East

DOMOTEX USA (Atlanta, Georgia) is the only combined trade show and conference event in North America that is exclusively dedicated to the carpet and floor coverings industry. It is organized and managed by Hannover Fairs USA, the U.S. subsidiary of Deutsche Messe AG. The debut event, which will put the spotlight on the US market for residential floor coverings, will be held from 28 February to 2 March 2019 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. Over 200 exhibitors, about 60 percent of which are based in the USA, have already booked over 8,500 square meters (about 91,500 sq. ft.) of display space. The US-based participants include many leading companies, such as Beauflor USA, Card-Monroe, The Dixie Group, Engineered Floors, Graf Brothers Flooring & Lumber, Hamat, Joy, Joy Carpets & Co, Merinos, Milliken & Company, Mullican Flooring, Shaw Industries Group, Swiss Krono Group and Tuftco Corporation.

DOMOTEX USA is designed to foster networking between manufacturers of flooring products and retail/wholesale companies, US building contractors, floor installation companies and purchasing groups. Its main display categories include machine-made carpets; parquet, hardwood floors and laminates; handmade carpets, textile and resilient floor coverings; outdoor flooring and floor covering technology. Among the various supporting events is a one-day tour of four leading flooring manufacturers in and around the nearby city of Dalton. The tour will be held on 27 February – the day before DOMOTEX USA opens – and requires prior registration. The tour will visit the headquarters and manufacturing sites of Shaw Industries Group (state-of-the art resilient floor coverings), The Dixie Group (design department, carpets for residential living spaces), Engineered Floors' SAM plant (manufacturing site for PureColor solution-dyed carpets) and Beauflor USA (production of vinyl flooring and textile backings). In addition, the DOMOTEX USA website will feature the #idomotex interview series where carpet and flooring designers, planners, manufacturers and dealers will outline their specific wishes for and expectations of the new trade show.

Dates for upcoming show: 28 February to 2 March 2019

Venue: Georgia World Congress Center, Atlanta

DOMOTEX Turkey: in the heart of Turkey's carpet industry

DOMOTEX Turkey (Gaziantep, Southeast Anatolia) brings together the country's most important carpet manufacturers in one location. The trade show is located in Gaziantep, home to most of Turkey's producers of woven carpets and rugs. Not surprisingly, the focus of DOMOTEX Turkey is on machine-woven carpets and handmade rugs. DOMOTEX Turkey is organized by Deutsche Messe AG subsidiary Hannover Fairs Turkey in partnership with the Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce (GTO), the Southeastern Anatolia Carpet Exporters' Union (GAIB) and the Gaziantep Chamber of Carpet Producers (GHO).

2019 marks the sixth time that DOMOTEX Turkey, the leading trade show for the carpet industry in Turkey and the Middle East, will be held. Last year's show attracted 195 exhibitors from 11 countries and around 12,000 visitors from 89 countries, a year-on-year increase of 30 percent. These figures make the show a key market development platform for Turkey and its Middle Eastern neighbors. DOMOTEX Turkey's success is in no small measure due to Turkey's position as one of the world's leading carpet manufacturers. Each year, the country produces around 350 million square meters (3.77 billion sq. ft.) of product and exports USD 2.2 billion-worth of handmade carpets and USD 1.85 billion-worth of machine-make carpets.

Over 5,200 square meters (56,000 sq. ft.) of display space has already been booked at the upcoming show, which runs from 27 to 30 April 2019. So far, the biggest exhibiting nations are Turkey, Iran, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, India, Belgium and Indonesia. The Turkish contingent includes many internationally renowned companies, such as Merinos, Kartal, Kaplan Kardesler, Yasin Kaplan and Royal. Other big-name exhibitors include Van de Wiele (Belgium), Gheytaran (Iran) and Farrahi (Iran).

Dates for upcoming show: 27 to 30 April 2019

Venue: Gaziantep Middle East Exhibition Center, Gaziantep

A first for South America: DOMOTEX Mexico @Expo CIHAC

As part of Deutsche Messe's international expansion drive, the DOMOTEX brand will soon be represented in Central and South America. DOMOTEX Mexico will premiere at Mexico City's Citibanamex convention center from 15 to 19 October 2019. The debut event will be staged in partnership with the UBM Group under the umbrella of CIHAC, Latin America's most important building and construction industry trade fair.

DOMOTEX Mexico targets the Mexican and South American markets and is specifically geared to the needs of construction companies, dealers, manufacturers and designers. The new show will provide a platform for a variety of products, from carpets and soft and hard floor coverings, such as LVT, to tiles and new floorlaying techniques and technologies. Mexican demand for carpets and floor coverings is expected to reach 385 million square meters (4.14 billion sq. ft.) by 2020, which equates to an average annual increase of 3.4 percent – a significant step up from the average growth recorded for the five-year period ending in 2015. Going forward, Mexico's domestic production of carpets and floor coverings is likewise expected to grow by as much as 3.4 percent on average, reaching 360 million square meters (3.88 billion sq. ft.) by 2020.

The size and dynamic growth of the Mexican market is a key reason for Deutsche Messe's decision to pick Mexico City as the fourth location for its international lineup of DOMOTEX-branded shows. Deutsche Messe subsidiary Hannover Fairs Mexico is the organizer of DOMOTEX Mexico @Expo CIHAC. The company is charged with bringing key events from the Deutsche Messe portfolio to Mexico, thereby boosting the international visibility and networks of the relevant Mexican industries. Likewise, as of this year, carpet and flooring providers from around the world will have the opportunity to participate at DOMOTEX Mexico @Expo CIHAC and leverage the benefits of the growing international network of DOMOTEX-branded shows.

Dates for upcoming show: 15–19 October 2019

Venue: Centro Citibanamex, Mexico City
