The European Recycling Conference 2025 heads to Hamburg

The European Recycling Conference (ERC) is coming to Hamburg, Germany, on 1 October 2025. This year’s edition, co-organised with EuRIC’s German members BDSV, bvse, and VDM, will explore the topic of “Building a competitive market for recycled materials”, and their critical role in delivering on the EU’s Competitiveness Compass and Clean Industrial Deal objectives.

ERC 2025 will propose concrete incentives and solutions to accelerate the circular economy transition while strengthening Europe’s industrial resilience and global competitiveness. Key topics include:

+ Integrating circularity into EU trade, energy, and competitiveness policies

+ The potential of End-of-Waste criteria and the role of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) schemes

+ Navigating the post-Waste Shipment Regulation landscape

+ Responding to supply chain volatility in a new era of global tariffs

+ Preserving international trade flows of recycled materials

+ The case for small-scale, strategic partnerships over trade barriers

ERC 2025 will bring together top-level speakers from industry and policy-making spheres, offering a unique platform to connect with fellow industry leaders, market analysts, and journalists. Waste2Fashion: FTTH Committed to advancing Circular Fashion in the Mediterranean

AATCC announces 2025 Herman & Myrtle Goldstein Graduate Student Paper Competition winners

The American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC) recognized the winners of the 2025 Herman & Myrtle Goldstein Graduate Student Paper Competition. Founded in 1982 to give student members the chance to conduct and present original research, the competition was renamed in 1994 in honor of Herman and Myrtle Goldstein, following their US$60,000 endowment. Their gift is a lasting remembrance of their dedication to young people in the textile industry.

SIMTA joins ITMF as Corporate Member

In the past two decades SIMTA has established itself as producer of specialized machinery for the textile industry. In short period of time, SIMTA became an important supplier of precise rollers for top OEMs. Afterwards SIMTA started manufacturing overhead cleaners, bobbin transport systems, and other textile ancillaries. In the meantime, SIMTA is a leader in this space in collaboration with the German automation technology partner Jacobi.
