OptiTex introduces webinar targeting users of PLM, with key content from the PDP group

(c) 2011 Optitex
On January 19th 2012, OptiTex will host its first webinar of the year, with key content from guest speaker Mark Harrop, CEO of the PDP (Product Development Partnership) group. Mark is internationally-renowned as a thought leader on the subject of apparel product development processing, and is one of the world's foremost experts on Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions.

Together with Ms. Julia Shaw, OptiTex's USA Technical/Presentation Manager, Mark will outline the role of virtual sampling in modern product development, and look at how 2D/3D sample making can be supported by many PLM solutions. The webinar will also describe OptiTex's role as an "extended PLM" solution, and look how the software can help to support the sampling process by delivering virtual samples that are technically accurate and enable creative visualization.

As outlined in Mark's introduction, the webinar will go on to examine how the ability to utilize and share data across core PLM (material libraries) can greatly increase the accuracy and efficiency of the overall sampling process.

"I am thankful to OptiTex for the chance to discuss the opportunities that virtual sampling, supported by PLM, can present to companies in the retail, footwear and apparel industry. With physical sampling typically representing a substantial investment of time and money, the efficiency savings that can be achieved by effectively combining virtual sampling and PLM can be significant", adds Harrop.

The 2011 World Conference on Mass Customization, Personalization, and Co-Creation will engage academics, business leaders, and consultants in a set of plenary presentations, discussion panels, and paper presentations intended to bridge the topics of Mass Customization & Open Innovation.
