The speciality yarn specialist

Automatic WinOro precision winder convinces all down the line
The winding of viscose yarns, rayon, aramid, polyethylene or similar materials requires a non-standard yarns specialist: WinOro is the product of choice. Depending on the design, the automatic precision takeup head from Oerlikon Barmag’s Chemnitz-based think tank for specialty yarns winds baler twine of up to 25,000 denier, PVC-coated multifilament yarn for various industrial applications and even textured artificial turf filaments. As an integral part of the texturing and winding unit, which can be installed online or offline downstream to the Mary-Line artificial turf system, the WinOro-M – for instance – is the standard component for the monofilament process.
Energy efficiency thanks to 2-cop solution
Energy efficiency and productivity are the outstanding properties of the WinOro 2-cop winder. With the energy consumption reduced by up to 45% compared to automatic single-cop winders, the WinOro-S 2- cop winding system distinguishes itself markedly from comparable products available on the market. Furthermore, the space required for the system is reduced by approximately 50% compared to the single- cop variant. A very convincing purchasing argument considering that aramid and UHMWPE are manufactured on horizontal systems. As a result the only single- or two-story winders already make the systems very long. With three optional strokes – 2x120 mm, 2x190 mm and 2x225 mm – the WinOro-S 2cop offers particular flexibility when it comes to the choice of yarns to be wound. In addition to this, yarn manufacturers can retain their tube diameters when switching from a single-cop winder to the 2-cop WinOro system.
Flexible specialist: the perfect model for all applications
WinOro is available in two different versions: the WinOro-S has two spindles and permits a maximum speed of up to 1,000 m/min, available as 1cop or 2cop winder. As a 1-cop version, the winder also caters to fine titers of between 50 and 6000 denier. Hence, the WinOro-S is a veritable specialist for all hightenancy yarns such as aramid and UHMWPE, which are used in the demanding (fire- and bullet-resistant) protective clothing, sports sails and drilling platform ropes segment. A further area of application includes dipped yarns for tire cord and PVC-coated polyester yarns for outdoor utilization. In contrast, the WinOro-M offers a tube magazine for storing up to 4 tubes. A take-up cradle for automatic yarn transfer ensures greater efficiency, while the conveyor belt system permits user-friendly operation of the winder. With an operating window of between 500 and 25,000 denier, the M series is deployed above all for the production of yarns with large titers, whereby typical applications include baler twines, geotextiles and similar products.
The electronic setting and adjustment of the crossing ratio and the possibility of changing the crossing during the winding cycle all provide greater efficiency when switching materials. Users can also choose between precision and random winding. For this reason, the WinOro – with its M and S variants – is able to economically manufacture both the highest-quality fibers with simultaneously perfect package builds. This is guaranteed by the electronically-adjustable yarn tension and contact pressure using proportional valves.

With its modern control system, WinOro ensures perfect package build-up even in the case of the rather special high-tech yarns. The winders are dancer-arm-regulated and driven by a frequency-controlled motor.
The inverter is an integrated component of each individual winder. Various recipes are simply stored in the control system to allow an easy and quick change of the production.
By transferring the speed signal from the system and the winders’ yarn tension-controlled control unit, changes are possible without substantial time and material costs. Easy handling and minimum maintenance round off the profile of the successful specialist for winding yarn specialties.
