Intertextile and Yarn Expo spring show dates to be adjusted

In response to pandemic containment efforts, Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Spring Edition and Yarn Expo Spring will be merged with the respective Autumn Editions of the shows from 29 – 31 August, whilst Intertextile Home Textiles will also be moved to the same aforementioned dates. The fairs will still take place at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai where they were originally due to be held from 14 – 16 April 2022.

Ms Wendy Wen, Senior General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd explained the decision: “In view of recent outbreaks in multiple provinces and cities in China, and to support the government’s pandemic control measures, the organisers of the fairs have decided to adjust the three spring shows by combining the Spring and Autumn Editions of Intertextile Apparel and Yarn Expo, and holding these concurrently with the Spring Edition of Intertextile Home.

The decision is necessary to reduce the risk of transmission and to ensure the welfare of all our participants. We will keep in close communication with all parties involved and we look forward to providing an effective sourcing platform for the textile industry when it is safe to do so. Yarn Expo Shenzhen 2026 closes doors, advancing sustainable and innovative sourcing in South China

Yarn Expo Shenzhen 2026 served as a strategically positioned mid-year sourcing platform for the Greater Bay Area, highlighting Shenzhen’s role in connecting regional demand, supply and innovation exchange across the textile value chain. During the three-day fair, over 20,000 visits were drawn from 74 countries and regions[1], as exhibitors and buyers engaged with new developments in greener, performance-led, and value-added yarn and fibre solutions. Held in conjunction with Intertextile Shenzhen Apparel Fabrics and PH Value, the fair underscored the benefits of closer synergy and new materials across yarn, fabric and apparel platforms for the South China market.

Cinte Techtextil China maps textile future with specialised zones and forward-looking fringe events

As global demand for high-performance materials evolves, Cinte Techtextil China is set to steer the industry’s next growth phase by driving the convergence of global expertise, specialised zones, and forward-looking tech and insights. The introduction of the €3 customs duty on low-value imports marks an important milestone in Europe’s efforts to address the challenges created by the rapid growth of ultra-fast-fashion imports. Together with the abolition of the €150 customs duty exemption, it demonstrates that policymakers are willing to act when market distortions become impossible to ignore. Novel flame-retardant and recyclable fiber-reinforced composite

Airplanes and passenger trains must meet strict safety requirements, including fire safety standards. This calls for materials that are flame-retardant, lightweight, robust, and scalable. Empa researchers, in collaboration with their industry partner Elantas, have now succeeded for the first time in making such a material – a composite – fully recyclable.

Teijin Limited announced today that WHILL Inc., a global leader in inclusive mobility technology, has selected Sereebo® P CFP series, a carbon fiber-reinforced thermoplastic (CFRTP) material, for key structural components of the upcoming WHILL Model C Lite. Sereebo® P CFP series provides high strength, light weight, design flexibility and system cost advantages to the Model C Lite, which is a battery powered, single-seat, last-mile device.
