Teijin Frontier joins “Fashion For Good” platform for sustainable innovation in apparel industry

Teijin Frontier Co., Ltd., the Teijin Group's fibers and products converting company, announced today that it has become East Asia’s first enterprise to join Fashion For Good (FFG), a global platform aimed at enhancing sustainable innovation in the apparel industry.

The FFG was established in 2017 to address pressing issues such as the pollution generated by producing and transporting clothes and their raw materials, the disposal of used items, the creation of a recycling system, and the need to develop technologies and mechanism to resolve such issues. FFG membership includes apparel and retail enterprises mainly in Europe, start-up companies and research institutes in industries engaged such as raw materials, textile, processing, sewing and logistics.

Teijin Frontier will now evaluate the quality of chemically recycled polyester pellets made from textile wastes manufactured by selected FFG innovators, and also manufacture and evaluate the quality of sustainable filament yarns. Teijin Frontier, utilizing its well-established technology and expertise, aims to create more efficient fiber-to-fiber recycling mechanisms as well as contribute to solve other serious issues in the apparel industry that FFG defines.

Teijin Frontier, guided by its THINK ECO® environmental strategy, is striving to improve its environmental value, including by developing environmentally friendly materials and products for applications ranging from clothing to industrial materials. In addition, to contribute to more responsible consumption and production in keeping with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Teijin Frontier is working to enhance systems in society for more effective resource conservation, such as waste reduction and recycling. Going forward, Teijin Frontier will continue to actively pursue these and other initiatives to help protect the global environment.

Teijin announces availability of DPP-compliant products aligned with Europe’s ESPR Environmental Regulation

Teijin Limited announced today that it has started rolling out initiatives to enable aramid fibers and carbon fibers to be accompanied by Digital Product Passport (DPP) technology, which enhances supply chain transparency by verifying the origins of materials and supporting sustainability claims. The company is using the supply chain traceability system from Netherlands-based Circularise B.V., in which Teijin has invested since November 2024, to develop DPPs for each product.

Teijin to invest in Circularise B.V. and adopt its supply chain traceability platform to promote the Circular Economy

Teijin Limited announced today that it will invest in Circularise B.V., a company based in The Hague, Netherlands, which develops product traceability management systems using blockchain technology. Teijin will also implement Circularise’s software to improve visibility into its global supply chain. Circularise’s proprietary “Smart Questioning”(*) solution, which utilizes Zero-Knowledge Proof (ZKP) technology, provides both anonymity and transparency to ensure a highly reliable product traceability system.

YKK develops concept EXCELLA® zipper tape using nonwoven fabric partially derived from used clothing

YKK Corporation has developed a concept version of its premium EXCELLA® zipper series made from nonwoven fabric sheets created by fiberizing used clothing and other textile materials. Based on a proposal by fashion designer Yuima Nakazato, this item was created as a result of collaboration between Nakazato, Seiko Epson Corporation and YKK. The concept zipper was incorporated as a material component for pieces in the newest YUIMA NAKAZATO Couture Collection, “INFERNO,” which was unveiled in Paris, France on July 8, 2026.

Rieter sees Barmag integration on track as orders and sales rise

The first half of 2026 was shaped by the successful completion of the largest acquisition in Rieter’s history. The Man-Made Fiber Division enables entry into the growth segment of man-made fibers and sustainably strengthens Rieter’s market position in the Asia region. The expanded Group is now the world’s leading system supplier for the processing of natural and man-made fibers. In the first half of the year, initial cost savings in material costs and operating expenses have already been realized. The targeted synergies are expected to amount to at least CHF 20 million by the end of the 2028 financial year. Due to the completion of the acquisition on February 2, 2026, the first half of the year for the Man-Made Fiber Division only amounts to five months.
