Esquel Group appoints Edgar Tung as new Chief Executive Officer

Esquel Group today announces the appointment of Mr. Edgar Tung as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective November 15, 2021. In the announcement, Ms. Marjorie Yang, who remains as Chairman after stepping down as CEO, thanks Mr. Tung for his valuable contributions to the development of the Group thus far.

“We are embarking on a new phase of growth and business transformation. With Edgar’s rich experience and deep understanding of Esquel’s values and approach, I have full confidence that he will lead a new generation of leaders to redefine our impact on the industry and beyond,” said Ms. Yang. 

Mr. Tung is a seasoned executive with over 20 years of general management experience in industries spanning from textile and apparel, through technology to food and beverage retailing.  Prior to his appointment as CEO, he was the Group’s COO, and had taken on various leadership roles in global operations, sales and other corporate functions. An established public speaker, Mr. Tung has frequently been featured in industry and youth forums.  He is the founding Chairman of the Youth Arch Foundation that aims at identifying and developing young leaders, and also sits on the Board of the Esquel-Y.L. Yang Education Foundation.
