Postponed: Texcare International will take place from 24 to 28 October 2020

Since the coronavirus is spreading rapidly in Europe, Messe Frankfurt has decided to postpone Texcare International. The leading international trade fair for textile care will be held in Frankfurt am Main from 24 to 28 October 2020. Industry and stakeholders are welcoming this decision.

Due to the increased spread of the novel coronavirus in Europe, Messe Frankfurt, following intensive consultation with partners and exhibitors, has decided to postpone Texcare International. Every four years Texcare International in Frankfurt is the high point for the textile-care sector. Participants expect it to provide business incentives in exchange with customers and partners from the whole world. Given the general regulations prohibiting major events, it cannot be anticipated at present that the situation will change by the planned date in June. Therefore Messe Frankfurt has decided to postpone this leading international trade fair. The partner associations of Texcare International, the German Association for Textile Cleaning (Deutsche Textilreinigungs-Verband), VDMA Textile Care, Fabric and Leather Technologies, and the leading companies in the industry have joined in supporting this decision.

New date for Texcare International

Texcare International is the meeting point for the industry to showcase its innovations to a world-wide audience. Messe Frankfurt still wishes all market participants to enjoy the opportunities resulting from Texcare International in the current season. Texcare International will take place in Frankfurt am Main from 24 to 28 October.

Messe Frankfurt commits further to East Africa: three textiles trade fairs during Africa Sourcing and Fashion Week from 2027

Messe Frankfurt and its Texpertise Network continue their steady, successful trajectory in the region. As Africa Sourcing and Fashion Week (ASFW) opened today, Member of the Executive Board Detlef Braun announced that Messe Frankfurt is licencing its three leading international trade fair brands Texworld, Apparel Sourcing and Texprocess to Nairobi, Kenya for the first time in 2027. From now on, they will take place annually as part of the Africa Sourcing and Fashion Week (ASFW) Nairobi.

Speed and connectivity: Techtextil and Texprocess provided market-ready solutions for industries under pressure

With more than 36,000 visitors and 1,700 exhibitors from a total of 112 countries, Techtextil and Texprocess 2026 demonstrated how innovation comes into industrial use. The convergence of research, industry and application proved to be a breeding ground for new material solutions, manufacturing and processing technologies. Natural fibres, performance apparel, connected systems and AI-driven processing technologies emerged as key growth and future markets.

“We Believe in the Value of Textiles”: Successful Opening of the KARL MAYER TEXTILE INNOVATION CENTER

KARL MAYER inaugurated its new, state-of-the-art TEXTILE INNOVATION CENTER (TIC) with a four-day opening week from April 21 to 24. The highlight of the week was the grand opening on Thursday, which drew a strong turnout from the international textile industry: around 220 customers, brands, and partners from across the textile value chain came to the company’s headquarters in Obertshausen for a first-hand look at the new high-tech development environment and lively exchange with industry peers.

Texhibition Istanbul signals stability and global connectivity

From 4 to 6 March 2026, Texhibition Istanbul once again brought together the international textile industry at the Istanbul Expo Center. Organized by İTKİB Fuarcılık A.Ş. in cooperation with the Istanbul Textile Exporters Association (İTHİB), the fair confirmed its role as one of the most important international sourcing platforms for fabrics and textile innovation. With 500+ exhibitors across 5 halls on 42,850 sqm, the trade fair attracted 19,325 visitors. Among them, 5.565 international visitors represented Europe, Asia, the Middle East, North Africa, North America, and other regions, underlining the show’s expanding global reach.

YKK invests USD 150 million in new manufacturing facility in India

YKK Corporation has announced plans to construct a new manufacturing facility in India, reinforcing its long-term commitment to one of the world's fastest-growing textile and apparel production hubs. The new factory will be built at Origins by Mahindra in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, and will become the third manufacturing site of YKK India Private Limited. The facility is expected to be completed by February 2028 and represents an investment of approximately USD 150 million, covering land, buildings, machinery and equipment.
