Techtextil 2015 – the leading international trade fair for technical textiles and nonwovens – is the first public appearance of Freudenberg Performance Materials . The Freudenberg nonwovens specialist officially began operating on January 1, 2015. Freudenberg Performance Materials was formed through the merger of two successful Business Groups – Freudenberg Nonwovens and Freudenberg Politex Nonwovens. The globally active supplier of innovative performance materials will be located in hall 3, level 1, stand F37.

He adds: "Having acted as two successful companies on a global stage in the past, we have now consolidated our future-orientated portfolio and our know-how in the development of innovative nonwovens and high technology applications for the market." As a leading global supplier of added value products, Freudenberg Performance Materials serves a diverse set of markets in the sectors automotive interior, apparel, building materials, hygiene, medical, shoe components and technical specialties.

At the Frankfurt fair, Freudenberg Performance Materials presents under the motto "Innovative. Global. Sustainable" new solutions in the area of advanced wound care, batteries and fuel cell components, interlinings, sound absorption and technical packaging.

The cornerstone of advanced wound care

With over 30 years' experience in the medical sector, Freudenberg Performance Materials is well prepared to tackle new challenges: A comprehensive portfolio for advanced wound care is now complemented by hydrophilic foam solutions. The latest products from the nonwovens specialist absorb wound exudate and create an ideal environment for wound healing. They protect the wound from drying out, from cooling and ensure an unhindered exchange of gases and water vapor, thereby accelerating the wound healing process.

Waterproofing roofs

Among other innovative solutions, Freudenberg Performance Materials, as one of the leading companies in the roofing sector, exhibits Terbond®. Terbond® is a polyester fiber nonwoven manufactured with spunbonded technology, which is mainly used as a reinforcement for bituminous roofing membranes in commercial buildings. This solution is available in numerous weights and capable of meeting a wide range of technical requirements.

Acoustics Nonwovens in Cars

SoundTex® M will be one of the highlights at the Techtextile 2015. The nonwoven product is based on an innovative microfilament technology from Freudenberg. The adjustable flow resistance offers excellent sound absorption, particularly in the frequency range from 600-6000Hz. SoundTex® M is also characterized by its ease of processing for shaping, cutting and bonding. Thanks to the outstanding strength: weight ratio, SoundTex® M offers significant potential for reducing the weight of components.

Printed Interlinings to create an individual look

Last but not least, Freudenberg Performance Materials underlines its approach of global technical and creative leadership in interlining with a new printed interlining. The company offers special interlinings which can be printed with a customized design and laminated to the outer fabric. Freudenberg offers a service for lamination where additional features can be added, such as water-repellent characteristics. The interlinings available for this process have been selected with the greatest care to achieve an optimum result in terms of handle and brilliancy of colors. Ideally, these materials can be used for unlined jackets and coats as well as trousers and skirts.

Besides receiving information on these innovative solutions, visitors will have the opportunity to learn more about of Freudenberg Performance Materials at their stand, which is partly built from Evolon®, an eco-friendly unique printing media for advertising and decoration. The latest development is also visible at the exhibition: 3D structured lightweight microfilament wipes offering the best cleaning performance of the category for a multitude of dry or wet usages in demanding industrial cleaning.
