Milliken & Company achieves EcoVadis Gold Rating

Milliken & Company, a diversified manufacturer committed to sustainability, is proud to achieve a gold rating on its 2022 EcoVadis assessment. EcoVadis is a trusted provider of business sustainability ratings, providing detailed insight into environmental, social and ethical considerations across 200+ purchasing categories and 160+ countries. Milliken’s score places it in the top 7% of more than 90,000 organizations rated by EcoVadis.

EcoVadis reviews sustainability policies, actions, and results in four main themes — environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement — using methodology built on international sustainability standards, including the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the United Nations Global Compact and the ISO 26000. Milliken’s performance is measured at the enterprise level, meaning the score and subsequent gold rating reflects the company’s efforts across its complete textile, chemical, floor covering, and healthcare businesses.

DITF develops bio-based binding fibers for wood-fiber insulation materials

As part of the CelluWoodFlex project, the German Institutes of Textile- and Fiber-Research in Denkendorf (DITF) are developing bio-based cellulose ester fibers as alternative binding fibers for flexible wood fiber insulation materials. In addition to the spinning process and the production of suitable staple fibers, the institute is also investigating how wood and cellulose fibers can be separated and recycled at the end of their useful life.

Reju expands textile-to-textile recycling network with six international fabric manufacturers

Reju, a textile-to-textile regeneration company, is expanding its industrial network through collaborations with six fabric manufacturers in Europe and the Americas. The initiative aims to accelerate the integration of regenerated polyester into textile manufacturing and support the development of finished fabrics for commercial applications.
