Teijin ranked among top ESG leaders by MSCI

Teijin Limited announced today that it received a rating of AAA in the MSCI ESG Ratings assessment, a global benchmark for environmental, social and governance (ESG) indexes issued by MSCI, a leading provider of ESG research and indexes used by the global investment community as of February 2022. In an evaluation of 64 companies in the global commodity chemicals industry, Teijin was placed in the top 2%.

The MSCI ESG Ratings target thousands of companies for comparison within their respective industries in terms of ESG risks, which are ranked on seven levels, from AAA down to CCC.

Teijin received high marks in areas including corporate governance and toxic emissions & waste. It was also recognized for strengthening its governance by establishing the Teijin Group Anti-Corruption Policy and for reducing environmental impact over the entire life cycle of products, including all processes from material procurement through to production, use, and disposal.

Teijin is also included in other international ESG indexes, such as the FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index and the FTSE Blossom Japan (All Cap) which are ESG investment indicators adopted by Japan’s Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF).

Teijin announces availability of DPP-compliant products aligned with Europe’s ESPR Environmental Regulation

Teijin Limited announced today that it has started rolling out initiatives to enable aramid fibers and carbon fibers to be accompanied by Digital Product Passport (DPP) technology, which enhances supply chain transparency by verifying the origins of materials and supporting sustainability claims. The company is using the supply chain traceability system from Netherlands-based Circularise B.V., in which Teijin has invested since November 2024, to develop DPPs for each product.

Teijin to invest in Circularise B.V. and adopt its supply chain traceability platform to promote the Circular Economy

Teijin Limited announced today that it will invest in Circularise B.V., a company based in The Hague, Netherlands, which develops product traceability management systems using blockchain technology. Teijin will also implement Circularise’s software to improve visibility into its global supply chain. Circularise’s proprietary “Smart Questioning”(*) solution, which utilizes Zero-Knowledge Proof (ZKP) technology, provides both anonymity and transparency to ensure a highly reliable product traceability system.

Textile Exchange publishes cotton Life Cycle Assessment study to strengthen impact data

Textile Exchange has published the first in a series of seven Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) studies designed to improve the quality and robustness of environmental impact data for raw material production across the fashion, textile, and apparel industry. The first LCA study focuses on cotton and addresses critical data gaps and methodology variability through new high-quality data across key producing countries. The study includes organic, regenerative, recycled, and country averages for conventional cotton production systems, providing a clearer picture of the associated environmental impact.

Italian Textile Machinery heads to Geneva for Index 2026
