Rieter achieved an order intake of CHF 951.4 million in the first nine months of 2026 (2025: CHF 559.3 million), up 70.1%. This growth is attributable to the first-time consolidation of the Man-Made Fiber Division. On an organic basis, order intake was 10.5% lower than the previous year.

Sales amounted to CHF 898.6 million after nine months (2025: CHF 457.7 million), up 96.3%. This development was also largely driven by the first-time consolidation of the Man-Made Fiber Division. On an organic basis, sales were 2.1% lower than the previous year.

Rieter completed the acquisition of Barmag on February 2, 2026. The reporting period for the Man-Made Fiber Division therefore covers eight months.

Outlook for the full year 2026 adjusted

For the 2026 financial year, Rieter expects sales at the lower end of the previously communicated range of CHF 1.3 to CHF 1.5 billion.

Due to the continued margin pressure and the slower-than-expected market recovery in the region Europe, Middle East and Africa as well as in the Americas, Rieter now expects an operational EBIT margin of -2% to 0%.

Market development

The markets developed very differently regionally. China and India showed comparatively stronger investment activity, while no sustainable recovery was evident in the region Europe, Middle East and Africa as well as in the Americas.

The regional sales development is also significantly influenced by the consolidation of the Man-Made Fiber Division. China achieved sales growth of 279.3%, of which 231.3% was attributable to the M&A impact. Organic growth amounted to 50.6%. Sales in India increased by 68.3%. The M&A impact amounted to 71.8% and the currency effect was -8.3%, resulting in organic growth of 4.8%.

In the Europe, Middle East and Africa region, sales fell by 9.3%. Despite a positive M&A impact of 28.6%, organic development was -36.4%. Sales in the Americas fell by 32.9%. Organically, the decline was 51.1%, while the positive M&A impact was 20.9%.

Order intake

The order intake of the Short-Staple Fiber Division amounted to CHF 335.8 million after nine months, which is 19.4% below the previous year’s figure. On an organic basis, the decline was 15.6%. The Components & Technology Division achieved an order intake of CHF 146.5 million. This corresponds to an increase of 2.7% or organic growth of 4.4%. The Man-Made Fiber Division, which has been consolidated since February 2026, contributed CHF 469.1 million to the Group’s order intake.

Sales

The Short-Staple Fiber Division achieved sales of CHF 301.6 million (2025: CHF 303.1 million). This corresponds to a decrease of 0.5%. On an organic basis, sales were 2.7% above the previous year. The Components & Technology Division achieved sales of CHF 134.7 million (2025: CHF 154.6), representing a decline of 12.9%, or 11.4% on an organic basis. The Man-Made Fiber Division contributed CHF 462.3 million to Group sales.

Order backlog

As at September 30, 2026, the Rieter Group had an order backlog of approximately CHF 850 million (2025: CHF 590 million). The current order backlog also includes the Man-Made Fiber Division, which has been consolidated since February 2026.

Restructuring programs

Rieter is continuing to implement its ongoing restructuring and footprint measures.

In the Short-Staple Fiber Division, these include, among others, the planned relocation of parts of the winding machine production from Germany to China, as well as further adjustments to the production and cost structures.

The Components & Technology Division is advancing the creation of competitive cost structures through the closure of sites in Europe.

In the Man-Made Fiber Division, measures to realign the Remscheid and Neumünster sites in Germany were announced in October 2026.

Rieter sees Barmag integration on track as orders and sales rise
