Ahlstrom introduces Optipad™

Ahlstrom, a global leader in fiber-based specialty materials, launches Ahlstrom Optipad™, a new high-performance filter pad, designed for hot cooking oil filtration. It’s a cutting-edge solution that brings together innovation, sustainability, and simplicity, extending oil lifetime up to 50% and enhancing ease of use.

Optipad™ combines an advanced filtration material with a filter aid, resulting in a pre-impregnated solution that efficiently eliminates particles and oil contaminants. The enhanced and durable design of the filter pad also streamlines the changing of filters, making it easier and more efficient for daily use.

TPM (Total Polar Materials) is a key measurement for assessing the quality of frying oil. Elevated TPM % levels indicate the degradation of oil, which can adversely affect food quality. OptiPad™ keeps the TPM-% lower much longer than standard filtration methods, delivering cleaner oil and extending the cooking oil life by up to 50%.

“Optipad™ enhances oil quality and offers savings and improved ease of use”, says Clas Läck, Head of Liquid Filtration. “Our filtration solution reduces frequency for oil replacement, saving total oil consumption. These are critical advantages for foodservice businesses striving for both efficiency and sustainability”.

OptiPad™ is manufactured with FDA approved materials and is in compliance with NSF/ANSI 51 Standard for Food Equipment Materials.
