A first in the ITM 2020: Denim technologies special section

The ITM (International Textile Machinery) Exhibition, which is organized every two years, offers economic advantages to the textile industry as well as providing great benefits to its participating companies and visitors in terms of innovative ideas and new collaborations. The ITM Exhibition, which globally demonstrated its success, took a step forward and led the way by opening the Denim Technologies Special Section this year.

TURKEY UNDERTAKES AN IMPORTANT ROLE IN THE WORLD DENIM MARKET

Turkey, being fourth in the world in denim exports, is among the major players in the global denim market. In Turkey, approximately 350 million meters of denim is produced in a year. Along with denim manufacturing, the export network of our country is also growing significantly. Expanding with value-added products, both producers and retailers are preparing for investment in this sector. Turkey has become a country that creates its own brands and shapes the world's denim fashion with its designs and technological products.

In terms of both denim fabric and denim clothing exports in 2018, our country was among the most successful countries in the world. Turkey placed in as the fourth most exporting country in the world in both categories, achieving 7 percent share with the export amounting to 338 million dollars in world denim fabric exports, which attains to a total of 4 billion 910 million dollars and accomplishing 4.5 percent share with the export amounting to 2.1 billion dollars in ready-to-wear clothing.

Turkey exported the most amounts of denim fabric particularly to Tunisia, Egypt, Italy, Morocco, and Bangladesh.

ITM 2026, one of the world's most prestigious organizations in the field of textile technologies, concluded with remarkable success. Welcoming 48,257 professional visitors and investors from 105 different countries, ITM 2026 provided momentum to the textile sector as an event where billions of euros worth of machinery sales and significant business collaborations were realized.

ITM 2026 International Textile Machinery Exhibition, one of the most prestigious meeting points of the textile machinery sector, attracted attention in its first three days, particularly with its diverse international visitor numbers. New spinning package with two-step filtration for recycled yarns and more

At the ITM in Istanbul, BB Engineering unveiled its new, patented ValuePack spinning package for the first time, which features a two-stage filtration system. This is particularly beneficial for re-cycling processes. Until now, spinning packs have used either metal powder (“sand”) or filter candles as filter media. Both options are suitable for differ-ent applications, and each has its own specific advantages and dis-advantages.

Mongolia: Workshop on Italian textile technologies kicks off in Ulaanbaatar

The workshop dedicated to Italian textile technologies will kick off in Ulaanbaatar from 21 to 23 June 2026. Focused on the most advanced innovative solutions for the textile industry, the initiative will bring together 13 Italian textile machinery manufacturers, confirming the growing interest in strengthening industrial cooperation between the two countries and highlighting Mongolia’s strategic importance for Italian textile machinery producers.
