Bettina Bär appointed Show Director of Neonyt and Val:ue in Messe Frankfurt’s textile division

With effect from 15 October 2021, Bettina Bär is taking over as Show Director of Neonyt and new tradeshow format Val:ue in Messe Frankfurt’s Textile & Textile Technologies division. Both tradeshows are held during Frankfurt Fashion Week.

In the future, Bettina Bär will be responsible for the strategy and concept of the two trade fair formats Neonyt and Val:ue, as well as their contents, organisation and further development. She will be taking over from Thimo Schwenzfeier, who, after more than eight years at Messe Frankfurt, is leaving the company to pursue new professional challenges. In her new position, Bär will report to Olaf Schmidt, Vice President of Textiles & Textile Technologies at Messe Frankfurt GmbH.

Since 2012, Bettina Bär has held various positions for Messe Frankfurt in the field of consumer goods fairs and was recently Show Director of Tendence. Among other things, Bär was jointly responsible for the Ethical Style Guide, whereby sustainable exhibitors at Tendence were separately identified and communicated according to a jury's decision. As part of her dual role, Bettina Bär will also be taking over the management of new fashion fair Val:ue, which – as the future base of the “Quality & Mainstream Fashion” segment – will be launched for the first time at Frankfurt Fashion Week in January 2022.

Texprocess 2026: Automation, digitalisation and AI redefine textile processing

Messe Frankfurt commits further to East Africa: three textiles trade fairs during Africa Sourcing and Fashion Week from 2027

Messe Frankfurt and its Texpertise Network continue their steady, successful trajectory in the region. As Africa Sourcing and Fashion Week (ASFW) opened today, Member of the Executive Board Detlef Braun announced that Messe Frankfurt is licencing its three leading international trade fair brands Texworld, Apparel Sourcing and Texprocess to Nairobi, Kenya for the first time in 2027. From now on, they will take place annually as part of the Africa Sourcing and Fashion Week (ASFW) Nairobi.

Val:ue Milan unveiled – a curated boutique business hub for high-end apparel textiles

Messe Frankfurt continues to expand its international textile network with the announcement of Val:ue Milan. Moving beyond the traditional trade fair model, Val:ue Milan debuts as a prestigious, boutique-style business hub exclusively dedicated to elected fabrics and accessories for apparel. Taking place from February 3 to 5, 2027, at The Mall in Porta Nuova, the event breaks away from conventional formats through a strictly curated environment designed for strategic networking. STFI highlights textile circular economy and alternative fibres at INDEX™ 2026

From 19 to 22 May 2026, INDEX will invite visitors to Lake Geneva for the world's leading nonwovens trade fair. The Centre of Excellence in Nonwovens at the Sächsisches Textilforschung- sinstitut e.V. (STFI) will be in attendance to present the latest developments in nonwovens research. In the field of the textile circular economy, the STFI will present acoustically effective nonwovens made from chemical recycling residues. The range also includes innovations aimed at replacing conventional raw materials, such as the biobased and biodegradable polymer polybutylene succinate (PBS) and Kendyr as an alternative to cotton.
