MK SONS Denim Research to make its debut at Kingpins Amsterdam

The Pakistan-based company combines specialized denim development with industrial manufacturing capabilities to support brands from initial product concepts to commercial production

MK SONS Denim Research, a specialist denim development and manufacturing division of Pakistan-based textile and garment manufacturer MK SONS, will make its debut at Kingpins Amsterdam on October 14–15, 2026. The company will present its approach to integrating denim product development with industrial manufacturing at stand T in the Green Area.

Established within the MK SONS group and developed over several years, Denim Research brings together expertise in fabric selection, fit development, washing, finishing, garment construction and production processes. The objective is to evaluate technical and commercial requirements at an early stage of product development, before garments enter industrial production.

Connecting denim development and manufacturing

The concept is based on closer integration between specialized product development and established manufacturing operations. Rather than treating development as a separate stage between design and production, MK SONS Denim Research aims to consider material properties, processing requirements, garment performance and production economics together.

This includes assessing the suitability of fabrics for specific washing and finishing processes, optimizing garment fits, testing construction methods and validating product characteristics before committing to larger production volumes.

According to the company, this approach is intended to reduce development risks, improve production consistency and help brands translate design concepts into commercially viable denim products.

Denim Research operates within the broader manufacturing infrastructure of MK SONS, allowing it to combine specialized development activities with existing industrial production capabilities. The division aims to address the challenges associated with transferring complex denim developments into repeatable manufacturing processes while maintaining control over quality, costs and delivery requirements.

Specialist expertise backed by industrial capabilities

MK SONS Denim Research was founded by Erkan Javed, a second-generation member of the family behind MK SONS. The parent company, based in Faisalabad, Pakistan, has roots dating back to 1988 and operates in textile and garment manufacturing.

The new division focuses specifically on denim development, bringing together technical expertise in materials, washing, surface treatments, fit and construction with the company's manufacturing experience.

By integrating these disciplines at an early stage, MK SONS Denim Research seeks to support designers, product developers and sourcing teams in developing denim collections that meet both product requirements and industrial production conditions.

The company will introduce its development and manufacturing approach to international denim brands and industry professionals at Kingpins Amsterdam, taking place on October 14–15, 2026.
